My belief is that in order to see these players shine we need central midfielders who are more than just bodies occupying a position. We need players there who can do the dirty work and also find these players with the ball quickly enough for them to be creative.

After reading a recent thread here about Lamela, it doesn't read like anyone fears him leaving at all. He's on his last chance but if a good replacement came in now I'd say most fans could live with it.

What a load of old cak. Where did Eriksen leaving come from? They just sit around writing fiction and sell it off as fact.

An Italian paper says Juve want Eriksen - which may or may not be true. That becomes 'Spurs could lose another star' and 'Spurs say he's not for sale' - with the hint that he actually is. Then the manager is asked and his denial is seen as either 'allaying fears' or 'refuses to confirm...' - it's the newspaper bullshit cycle in action.

Lamela needs to get his **** together this season. He can be brilliant, but too often just show boats or disappears out of games.

Poch played him upfront last game. Personally I think that's a good move as he can be a liability anywhere else. At least in that position he does have the freedom to be a selfish showboater as long as he scores 10-15 goals. Would solve the whole 3rd forward issue as well.

And are Dier and Bentaleb good enough to do this....
As of now, or.....do you think they will be good enough with more games under their belt?

Lamela seems to want to play on the right wing and that's where he did well for Roma. He hasn't done anything for us yet but does show flashes of having great talent. We really don't want another Bentley.
