Poch, you've done everything right but we all know with Levy you're one hissy fit from the sack at any moment. It happened to Jol and Harry so it could happen to you. Sadly it'll never happen to Levy.

But DL doesn't seem to go in for "hissy-fits". He just seems to lose faith in his managers and, once that's happened, there's no way back. Jol and Redkapp in particular were like dead men walking during their final weeks at the club, because everyone seemed to know that Levy wanted rid of them.

Levy always seems to think he can do better and always seems to set/hold us back a few years.
The only 2 managers that have actually taken us forward, Jol and Redknapp were both fallback options when Levy's master plans failed.

I'm still on the fence with Poch.

Have you ever seen a manager change things as much as Poch has in the last season and a half. the whole club feels different. Yes Jol brought flair back and Redknapp bought the good times. But they didnt change the club mentality. Poch is changing things on a whole different level to all previous managers. he isnt going to get the tin tack for some time. we are building something solid here for the future for the frst time in years. and it feels good.

Yes. As long as we stay top 6 and have a decent run in one comp he'll be reet. If he does stay long enough to get us clicking, we'll be doing a lot better than top 6 and hoping for a decent cup run imo.

Levy has trust and a good working relationship with Poch. The club is moving forward with Poch and I don't feel there is any danger of Poch being sacked in the near or far future. Hopefully time will prove me right!

Doesn't actually say he fears the sack just that a bad run of results and any manager may be sacked that's how it is now so not at all like the opening paragraph leads you to believe.

Let's wait and see how much silverware he brings to the club because ultimately that's the only thing he or any manager gets a contract for. Nothing else.

He hasn't changed the club mentality either, he put out a weakened side in the league cup and lost against arsenal because he is trying to get champions league football.

I can say he is changing the teams mentality, he got rid of some of the players who were not working hard enough or were giving him problems and has a nucleus that want to work hard. Jol got 5th place he is the manager that got the ball rolling, the last time we finished in the top 4 before that was when venables was manager. He achieved 5th place, a league cup semi final, and FA cup and Uefa cup quarter final in one season.
I like Poch and he's doing a steady job but I can't put him on the pedalstool you're putting him on tbf.

i think as long as he keeps us in the top half until the stadiums built he's got no chance of getting the sack.
dunno why but i feel that Levys realised he can't keep chopping and changing, and expecting top 4 without the budget is unrealistic.
Time will tell i suppose, but things feel different with poch at the helm.

I don't want to lose Poch, just as I didn't want to lose Jol or Harry but DL on a whim decided AVB or Ramos would be an improvement. You call it a loss of faith, I call it a hissy fit, I'm honestly not sure how cool and considered the plan was of giving AVB 100m to spend, then firing him so he could get Sherwood before the players had settled.

In my opinion, the millions we spent firing those managers didn't do the club any good. Are we sure DL can be trusted with this manager? All comments about the good relationship with Poch were said about managers that Levy fired a year later. My best advice to Poch would be win something to make it harder for Levy to do his thing, although that didn't work for Ramos. Don't fear the reaper when you work for Levy.

I agree that he is changing things and that the future is bright. While I criticize Poch alot, I do not want him sacked by any means. However, any PL manager is always managing to keep his job as it comes with the territory. Particularly a manager here. Levy has quite the trigger finger.

In all seriousness every manager in the prem is close to the chop but we really could benefit as a club from a period of stability.

Listening to podcasts and reading the papers we are actually finally starting to shift our "spursy" comedy image.

The neutrals think we aren't the finished article but the building blocks are in place. We are un beaten since the first day of the season, have a young hungry squad and things are looking up.

As fans lets get behind this.
