Money does win titles but I disagree that the comment is bullshit. Theres a reason we drop points at crucial stages throughout the last 3 years. Whenever we are touching distance from the top we have done it. Comments like @coopsieyid above that we play better 'under the radar'. It's because of our mentality. We cant expect to win anything under the radar but we have shown we can challenge the money club's already.

I agree Poch needs to focus on the mentality and I think he's addressing the right thing at this stage. It's good to hear him moaning about the fixtures and the ref, even if he is wrong sometimes. And hopefully we put Chelsea to the sword tonight and stick the boot in when they're down, cos true winners take pleasure in that.
The reason is we have young, inexperienced players who, regardless of talent, have little to no experience at winning things.
Money buys you the finished article and those teams, players, do not fk up when the pressure is on.
Its money mate.
You only have to look at the correlation table between biggest spenders and finishing positions in the league over the last 20years, well since pl began actually.
We arr an anomaly who are where we are because we happened to have landed with one of the best strikers in Europe through our academy and Alli, a £5m player, turned out to be one of the best midfielders in the country. We jave bought well and have other good players, I mean we're a hundred times better than 10/15 years ago, but we are a lot further forward than we should be given what we spend or anyone could have hoped for.
When Redknapp left I didnt see us getting top 4 again for the next 10 years.
Kane changed that on his own pretty much and no fucker saw that coming.

Agree which is what makes the decision to play 5 defenders and start Foyth imo fkin stupid but there you go. Whats done is done.
Well yes and no. It was largely the same defence as vs. Dortmund, so you can see why there is the thought to continue with those players who did so great. But the overall argument you are making is true, one of the reasons for why we have yet to win a trophy is that Pochettino is still learning.

10 years would be about the limit for me. In 1961 I was too young to remember it and if it goes on too much longer beyond 10 years I’ll be too senile to know what’s happening!

His comments make no sense to me, the time is now with the likes of Kane, Son, Dele, Eriksen , Verts, Toby, Hugo, so much talent! We have been improving every year, I thought we could give it a real go over the next couple of seasons in the new stadium. Unless he is trying reverse psychology ?
The time is now, make it happen you beautiful magic man!

Agree money is the game changer although it's no cast iron guarantee it certainly makes it easier if you have it, in our current position of competing with the other top five with one hand behind our backs if we had owners like city within a couple of seasons the club would be amongst the silverware but our owners are not interested in that and prefer a model that doesn't commit itself too much whilst raking in big profits.

I'm gonna stick to the optimistic route & say he's simply stated these words to fire the boys up & stem the talk of being title contenders from the media.

Under the radar is where we perform best.

It would be odd if any body really believed we were 10 years off. How do you measure that? What led you to that conclusion? Are we further behind than the Leicester team that won it? I was wondering if it's some sort of frustration from MP. Hope you're correct though.

You don't need a manager to motivate you for those games [chelsea, Arsenal. etc], that is normal.
And it follows that the manager has to find a way to motivate the players against the likes of Burnley.
And he didn't. We weren't competing (2nd balls etc).

If he saying that we need more grit, well everyone knows he should have replaced both Wanyama and Dembele in the summer. Those 2 didn't need extra motivation before they were injured. Wanyama kicked people up in the air for fun.
But to be fair, you could argue MP was right to back Winks and Sissoko - so far it has been a brilliant season.

MP is usually a very good motivator - I just think both he and the players got distracted, with the 3 big games coming up.

Hopefully within that period the stadium income will start to be reflected in the transfer budget. For sure money is important but mentality does play a part too. We know we can beat the better teams so when we do lose to a Burnley, knowing that we do have better quality players then mentality must play a part in that.

But Man Citeh lost to Newcastle who we did double over, Chelsea were thrashed by Bournemouth. We're not exempt from results we didn't want?

Liverpool have lost 1 PL game all season, City 4, we have already lost 7.
That’s far too many to be real challengers.
My fear is he’ll walk and we’ll be back to square 1?

Definitely not but there is always a reason behind every result. Obviously to an extent Burnley are just as guilty at raising their game against the 'better' teams and then not turning up in the same way against teams around them as evidenced by last night.

Nah, he's not going anywhere. He loves us. He's building an empire.

He literally stated that i'll take him 10 years to win the league, what does that say to you?

5-10 years in fairness. But yeah, there was nothing in what he said to suggest that he was thinking of walking.
