Who is going to buy CE and TA when they are available for free six months later?

I know - the only way that a club will make a move is if there is an injury crisis and even then, in the case of Eriksen especially, they may refuse if it is not the move that they were looking for.

Was this written a few months ago? Why would anyone buy a plaayer, knowing that in the coming months they can have for free?

Any interested club can even sign a precontract with them in January.

Why Vertonghen? He’s not a contract rebel as far as I was aware? ?‍♂️

He actually wanted a new deal??

Because you might need them badly before the season is over due to going in hard for honours.

Or you might just wanna snap them up for a cheap price where ass the competition will be tougher for a free agent I guess

It's happened quite a lot before though, shit, even we paid a fee for someone once (can't remember who - maybe that lad from Everton) just to get them in that 6 months earlier.
Granted, it won't be much in the way of a fee but it can be done.

For me it's clear that some of those names have lost interest. You only need to look at the number of goals we're conceding compared to previous seasons. If the players can't be arsed anymore I'd sooner see them leave than Poch.

At the current bad situation of the team, why would news like this even been allowed to be revealed to journalists at all...

Why would Poch even wanna speak about this openly.. Sigh... ?

Agree.
I've seen a lot of people listing Jan as a want away player and lumping him in with CE and TA, but cannot find anything to validate that.
Unless i have missed some ITK?

Hes not a contract rebel but poch wants him sold. People were saying that its levys doing because of his age but poch has the final say on who he wants to keep regardless of age.

And people are wondering why senior players look like they can't be arsed. Nice motivational skills if there's any truth in it.

Jan is one of my all time favorite players at Spurs so I have been disappointed how things are coming to a head. Obviously things go on behind closed doors that we are not privy to. However its no surprise that his performances have dipped recently if Poch wants him gone but he wants to stay.

You need Veteran Pros at a club for obvious reasons so to ship all of them out once they turn 30 or so does not jive for me. Experience and leadership is key both on and off the field. Currently we lack leadership on the field as everyone seems jaded and their performances are reflecting that as is our turgid, ponderous style of play.

I hope Jan can stay and provide the experience ant club needs but sadly I won't hold my breath.

Why in the ding dang doodly would be want to get rid of Vertonghen though?

He’s been a top servant for us and was excellent last season.

Personally if it was me I’d have been working on him and Sanchez as a combo (rather than destroying Sanchez’s confidence playing him at right back) as unlike Alderweireld, Vertonghen most probably would have signed a new contract.

Centre backs can go on to mid-thirties and then Poch should have been searching for a left-footer to gradually integrate in.

Probably explains why he sat out a few games when he was apparently fine to play. If he's been told he's going to get shoved out it's 1) a piss poor bit of man management and 2) A rock solid reason why senior players look like they can't be bothered. It's no way to treat a player who's given so much to the club IMO.
