Because he's a huge prospect? Maybe it won't be quite that much, but he won't come cheap—I think he cost Bayern around €10m, so they'll be looking to turn a decent profit, especially if City are interested. I doubt his wage demands will be modest, either.

That is weak for one of the most intelligent posters on these boards. He's not for us, but Podolski is far from useless. The right system in the right league and he is brilliant.

And by the way, not one of our players would even see the subs bench at Bayern Munich
(well maybe Modric). So how useless are we? Sosa and Breno rarely play for them and would be instant starters for us. I would imagine that one day of Gomes would even see Rensing become admired. If he weren't getting a look at Cottbus, your argument would be valid, but Bayern Munich?

Yeah its kind of predictable, a player who is featuring a lot and doing really well will cost a lot (Keane / Berbatov / Bent), whilst one who is still just as capable but not proving his worth and spends most of his time warming the bench will obviously have a reducted tag (Defoe / Podolski).

His price tag was never going to be any where near £20 mill tbh.

£10-15 is about fair id say.
