Whatever your agenda is for posting a question which has its answer staring at you Mr Visitor, if this is designed to antagonise an already polarised thread, then this thread will have come to a natural conclusion. Lead on fellas.

You really want to go down with all those prawn sandwich guns blazing, don't you?

Is there some convention where trolls meet up after they've been banned from all the vaguely intelligent sites in cyberspace?

You know, along the lines of a hall full of anorak trainspotters?

Or grown men who still get a thrill out of building Airfix model aircraft?

Or Trekkies who think Klingon jokes are the ultimate in sophisticated humour?

And what's wrong with that? :shifty:

I am always alarmed at the hostility towards Sol Campbell from Spurs fans, I think it is unfair and is not deserved.

Oh really, is that what you think? Well, you are wrong. As for the rest of your post, that was bollocks too.

Thanks for sharing though, just reminds us all why people laugh at ManUSA fans and their incredible lack of knowledge about the rest of the league and football in general.

There's always one. And.... I kinda knew it would be A&C!

More seriously, it's nigh on impossible in these politically correct days to compare a troll to a group of numpties without offending someone.

So, I'll be bold and stick by my statement that a grown man who spends his free time glueing bits of prefabricated plastic together has some form of OCD....

If he's a Man Yanited supporter then its not his fault he doesnt understand as Man U dont have that kind of rivalry with anyone. Its difficult for anyone in the North West to understand the rivalry between London clubs - especially us & the scum. Campbell came through the ranks at Spurs & became Spurs captain then left for Arsenal on a free - He's now getting the abuse every time he plays against us - he knew exactly what he was letting himself in for. I guess the closest thing would be Ronaldo going to Citeh on a free. Given Citeh are now a richer club, who knows....

I'm actually glad in a way that rez9000 is going to be offline for a bit because, frankly, after my post-work [ahem]...relaxation...there's no way I could tackle that debate. And you say my posts are long?!

You mean you still aren't coating them with a film of vaseline?

I'm sure Excellentdud will be wishing Ronaldo all the best when he fucks off to the Bernabeu next summer. Why should the World's Best Player not be allowed to showcase his talent with the World's Biggest Club?

What Sol did was unforgivable - through the ranks - captain - not only go to the Scum but on a free as well!

Problem is he was better advised than we were - no contract signed 12 months to go - we should have sold his arse - (unfortunate turn of phase that where Sol is concerned - not intended to in any way offend though)

I personally do not hate him, hell I don't know him, however he does deserve all the abuse that he gets and what is worse he knows it.

the club have recently issued a statement to say that the abuse of Sol campbell is completely unprofessional and not becoming of a club in our position. In future all Sol Campbell abuse has to be co-ordinated though the club web site than will publish appropriate chants to be sung by spurs fans when professionally abusing Sol. Certain subjects will of course be 'taboo' such as race and creed but fans will be encouraged to explore his current form, mental state and of course sexual preferences. Appropriate chants will be posted on the official Spurs web site 48 before every game where Campbell makes an appearance.

Thats way too intellectual an excuse for your average football crowd.

It is factually correct to say :

Lynching is associated in many peoples minds as the murder of individual black men in America by groups of racist white men. Often the method of killing was to hang them.

It doesn't matter in the slightest that Lynching was a pre-existing term, the important bit is what the majority associate it with.

Its like saying the crucifixtion shouldn't be associated with Jesus because he was just one of many to get nailed up.

It's all slightly irrelevant anyway because I doubt the chant actually uses that reference anyway, as far as I can see it's to do with suicide.

That last bit about Chelsea fans having a history of anti semitic abuse, well yes they do and we as a group of fan have a history of homophobic abuse at Sol Campbell.. it's all over the place, any spurs forum you'll find it

We keep coming back to this Rich. I'm not expecting those who sing it to have the intellectual capacity to understand what they are singing. I'm condeming those who have used it's existence to further a personal agenda knwoing full well that it isn't homophobic or racist.

The arguments are directed at those who have the intellectual capacity to know the difference.

So your personal position on this chant is....? would you sing it?

Before it became a big thing, I would maybe go along with it, if I was caught up in the heat of the moment, but still refrain if I was calm and rational. Now, after the hoohah, never.

Doesn't interlectual capacity rather preclude footballers like Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole?
