Chrissivad or POTL?

POTL stands for Phantom of the Lane, the username of a poster from a different fan forum. I forget which (COYS, I think). He is an In The Know (ITK) and reveals snippets of information from contacts at the club. He's pretty reliable as you can see from the other comments in this thread.

Any idea who is might be? Or is it a big secret?

i really don't want to see defoe up front on his own

way to end our CL challenge for me

i think if defoe plays, it should be with either pav or crouch up front

don't want a gud defoe pairing at all, unless fitness rotation demands - even then want to see eidur playing forward not leaving defoe on his own

Have a word with yourself mate. You say you don't want Defoe to play and then underneath say we should have signed a pacy, powerful striker. Have you tried defending against JD? He's a proper battler. Why the hate?

Ssssh, don't tell anyone, but I think it's Jason Dozell

I don't think anyone heard us

its about how fast you can move with the ball at your feet under control, in that respect Defoe is fairly quick add to that he generates alot of power off a small backlift, he is more deadly than Pav in that respect

I'm not sure exactly but shots to goals ratio and goals per minute Pav is a more dealy goal scorer than defoe. I daresay there are finer gents than me with that info to hand.

I said in a earlier post and pav/Gud partnership would be my choice but added i think thats with Lennon and or a bale. if both were missing i'd certainly pick defoe so we had some variety in that respect. Otheriwse no, i want my cf's to pass and move and run onto balls not dribble with it centrally.

POTL normally pretty accurate so this is great news. And Defoe and King should be back in the next week. If we can get Lennon fit for one or more of the home games against Woolwich or Chelsea we could arguably start our strongest 11 for the first time since the Autumn
I would say not, as they will not be a 100% match fit so not really are strongest starting 11?

Hi snake 29 - i stuck you on ignore pretty much within a day, after you gave me your views on BAE, and how i should get out more and BAE was nailed on to be RB v portsmouth (yes i am very thin skinned and over-sensitive, and accept I can be at fault over that)

i agree about the 'get out more' - but I'm a fairly old man these days (I've been supporting spurs for 50 years and hope soon to visit the Lane for my sixth successive decade) and going out doesn't have the appeal it once had

but when the manager has already told us that walker was pencilled in to start but for a training accident, it's pretty obvious BAE wasn't 'nailed on' wasn't it?

i have no hate for JD, indeed am a big fan of the little man. But he doesn't have sufficient physical power or technical ability or heading ability to lead the line as a lone striker

this has been shown before, and IMO it will be shown again if tried

luckily Harry hasn't shown any inclination to play JD in this role, and i don't expect him to anytime soon

except in case of injuries etc

naturally if JD does play there i will support him

anyway I'm replying to you out of courtesy, but only saw your reply because someone posted it

my sig refererred to a time when we only effectively had JD and PC as decent strikers - pav being 'out of favour' and eidur not ready yet to make an impact

but I'm grateful for you reminding me about it - (i have all sigs, images etc turned off, as it slows up my computer and reading time)

i shall remove my sig as it's out of date now

Hehe, no hard feelings man. Your dead wrong on JD, he's very tough and wins battles against players much bigger than him. His holdup play is very good for a short guy. Its why he can create so much room for himself. Ekotto was a giggle mate. I saw this nailed on comment and had to laugh then repeated it. He was never going to play right back. And he wouldnt have come on as a sub if Redknapp had stuck to his guns. No hard feelings though yeh? Respec your elders and that.

If someone sticks you on their ignore list they can't read your posts unless someone quotes the ignored persons post like I just did.

Phantom is the man, he's never wrong, unless he brings bad news about Lennons Injury then he is a lying scumbag!

You've been pretty hard to ignore at the start of your SC career, your 'hello boys' opening gambit was particularly entertaining!

Hi Snake - fair enough - I can see your style is a bit different, so bygones etc - we'll give it another go :)

I've no problem you telling me I'm dead wrong about JD - but I think you'll find the man in charge agrees with me and that you won't be seeing JD playing a lone striker role thru his choice anytime soon

I reckon you won't see Capello doing it either even if rooney is injured/rested

Phantom is an ITK I really like, but if you also told us Daws would be fine, then well said by you too
