Still think there'll be a few twists yet mate.

I’m sure they will drop points, but I’m almost certain we aren’t good enough to take advantage.

They've also got to play us yet too. I forgot that!

Sweet, that's enough for me.

"almost certain" still leaves that glint of hope that you're doing your best to avoid having.

Cling to hope mate. Trust me, we don't have much more in life.

Arsenal's win today is deflating. They are reliably beating every team you'd expect them to beat. While we are a volatile and unpredictable side. Maybe we can keep the chase going another few rounds, but its looked for weeks now like they don't drop points against anyone below them.

We can only focus on our own games. But I doubt we'll be so resilient against west ham tomorrow, or villa when we play them.

The thing that Arsenal are doing well is that they're really imposing themselves onto their opponents. They're not waiting for things to happen, they're attacking with fluidity every game and relying on their front players to make things happen, which they're fully capable of. That's not a dig at us, but I do think we can on occasion and even in parts of matches, struggle to impose ourselves and struggle to get our front 3 involved and threatening enough.

Others have made the comparison before but it is a bit similar to us with Poch, when we had a set of front players who were let loose due to solidity behind them, and most teams just simply couldn't keep them out enough.

They seem to be well able for mopping up second balls in defence leaving no scraps for attacking teams to take advantage.

I guess it's easier to put a run together when you've had no european football, got knocked out of the cups fairly early on. Only had the league to focus on. I don't think they will be as good next year. Especially if they get into Europe.

This is wishful thinking. They're on a good path and CL footy would help accelerate their progress. Ours too...we can only focus on getting our own house in order. And it surprising were even considered to still be in the hunt for 4th. Let's see how we get on for the 9 or so games we have left. We haven't put a winning run together in 3 seasons seasons.

Its not wishful thinking. Arsenal have been a joke under Arteta for a long while but stuck with him.
They hit such a low point they have no European football and were knocked out of cups early on so they only have the league to focus on.
That makes a difference.
Agree we only have to worry about ourselves but Arsenal are still building and the wheels could fall off very quickly once they have to rely on the whole squad.

As the saying went - Take a gap year from European football in order to get European football !

Not to mention being able to cancel games because a key player or 2 is missing.

Imagine we'd have been able to cancel the games where we had no Skipp, Bentancur, Dier.

The current picture would look very different, in my extremely uneducated opinion.

Interesting, so if we beat Newcastle by 2 goals, we will actually be above Arsenal.

Although they will have 2 games in hand, hopefully that will start putting them under pressure, especially as just over a week ago they had the chance to be 9 points ahead of us.

I'm not expecting Arsenal to slip up against Palace, but it is a weekend where things could get interesting in our favour. We just have to make sure we do our part at home to Newcastle. They're a different proposition these days, but i'd rather a fixture vs them at home than Palace away.

Tottenham know a two-goal win will take them into the top four before Arsenal play Crystal Palace on monday. It would be the first time the club have been in the top four in the final two months of a season since finishing fourth in the 18/19 campaign.

I see TAA could be back for Liverpool after missing out on the Internationals.
