I don't care who hit who and who should have been sent off or who shouldn't I'm just pleased points were dropped by teams above us. Chelsea's next league game is Manchester City, we play Arsenal then Chelsea. By the end of this month things could be completely different, might be a really important month.
Win our games in hand and we’re one point behind Chelsea

Digging what mate? I'm just sharing my opinion which happens to be in line with what the ref on the field and the VAR felt.

For the reasons I posted above and the fact Mane does look at the ball rather than the player as he goes to jump its clearly NOT a red card.

I rate this action very similar to Kane's incident. An orange. Certainly a yellow but wouldn't be surprised if it was red.

Sorry if you disagree. (y)
It’s probably the most clear cut red card in recent years.
The noise around it by people trying to justify it is embarrassing.

It’s on a different level to the Kane incident, and is on a par with the Zlatan elbow on Tyrone Mings a few years back. It’s so clearly deliberate

It should be upgraded retrospectively, but we all know that the fa won’t do it.
Anthony Taylor is their leading ref so he will be protected.

But as you say, football is about opinions so everyone can say what they want regardless.
It’s all good ??

"Nah, it's never a red - Mane has a cracked iPhone, he doesn't have a nasty bone in his body"

I have absolutely no love for Liverpool or Sadio Mane.

You seem, like Thomas Tuchel, to be under the impression that he connected with his elbow. He didn't.

If he had it would be like the Zlatan incident. If he had it would be a definite red card.

But I re-iterate - he never touched him with his elbow. That's why I, like VAR, came down on the side of it not being "clear and obvious" that it was red.

Do you understand the difference? Because it would be embarrassing if you didn't.

Sheesh...

Jesus man it was a forearm smash in the face.
It’s so obvious it’s ridiculous to carry on.
You go on thinking it’s an “orange” or whatever the fuck you want to call it.

just because the referee and var gave it, that makes it ok? Just like the Kane offside last week no doubt….

nonsense

Mate you're carrying on like a pork chop, pretending it's an absolute when it's anything but. We've seen plenty of similar incidents like that get yellow before - why are you pretending otherwise?

I've said I'd be happy if he'd gotten a red - I just also understand why it wasn't given. That's not good enough for you. You seem to be all red-faced sweating bollocks about it all? Have money on it something?

Or did you form your opinion when you thought it was an elbow and now you can't roll it back to "save face"?

Blimey.

One thing is clear. Tuchel is losing his mojo. They are dropping points that they’d normally win. Long may it continue.

It’s quite simple. Like Jimmy Floyd hasselbaink said, it doesn’t matter which part of his arm he caught him with. It was dangerous.
Thankfully it wasn’t the point of his elbow as it could have been a big injury.
Personally I don’t see the debate in it, a bit like the ederson challenge in the Arsenal game.

So hearing carragher tying himself in knots trying to excuse it is , well predictable, infuriating and sad.

But to hear others who don’t have a blind spot about Liverpool so big it blocks out the sun carry the argument on is, to me, a bit strange.

what’s clear is that no one is going to change your mind in this.
that’s fine.
No one is changing mine either.

so we’ll leave it there

Unanimous on MoTD it was a red. Even Shearer agreed!

Tbh I agree with them. And not the first time Mane has led with his arm in am aerial challenge either.

Well to be fair Dave's head did try to dirty his saintly entitled red scouse shirt sleeve. I mean, come on, it's Dave who should have got the yellow card (to be honest Dave should get yellow for being, well, Dave!)

Like I said - IF he hit him with his elbow.

But he didn't. It was his wrist. The outcome was no worse than a later incident involving Konate who, like Azpilucueta was absolutely fine after rolling around for five minutes.

Now you can make an argument for intention rather than outcome - and I agree Mane's action was much worse than the Konate incident - but does that exist under rules?
If mane does that against one of our players, we’d all be going mental.

Watching Brighton on MOTD last night playing some brilliant football yet again.

Glad we've ended up with Conte but part of me still wishes we'd gone all out for Potter instead of Nuno in the summer. Can see him ending up at Everton when Rafa inevitably gets sacked and doing well there.
