We need to get our goal difference rolling in the right direction again, bit behind the leaders in that department since Chelsea at home.

I think we need 12 to go 4th. But we’ll concede 2 won’t we.

Chelsea fans seriously turning on Poch, it’s beautiful to see
I find it amusing how Chelsea fan’s really think the problem is the manager not the bloated, overpaid, unbalanced squad they have. More than happy for them to continue going through two managers a season for the foreseeable.

Interesting tactic from Chelsea to always play out from the back but in doing so starving their best ball players of possession since the GK and defenders gave it away very quickly. Sanchez's passing was atrocious. We'd have beaten them of it was 11v11 or even 10v11 imo.

Pretty sure we need to be Liverpool fans this year. The slightly lesser of two evils
Makes our injuries all the more worse given there’s no one team that looks set to run away with it.

but positive thoughts. Romero back and Leo Lo Celso ripping it up etc…

We might need to start cheering on Villa with City shitting the bed.
Good luck to Villa, a club with a similar history to ourselves we’ve got one more FA Cup than they do (7 vs 8), they have a European Cup and won the league on three occasions in the 20th century (us twice). Still so wide open and if we turn it around over the next few months this could be such an interesting open top 4/5 race.

That was seriously impressive from Villa. On the front foot, aggressive, smart use of the ball.

Credit where credit is due.

A bit like us at the weekend - maybe the king is naked - I hope more teams are brave and proactive against city*

Looking at Citys next 5, could see them winning them all with +20 goal difference and suddenly its back to them being on top or breathing down Arsenals neck.

Fair play to Villa they fully deserved that win, was flicking between that & the Utd/Che match and the difference in quality was shocking.

If anyone stops Arsenal now I think it will only be Liverpool. Yet to play each other so that is 6 points up for grabs and Liverpool's defensive record will not see them slip up much. Difference between Ederson and Allison has always been Ederson when City are on top form is a unbelievable passer but still a weaker shot stopper who has a habit of getting a hand to shots but not keep them out.

That their midfield - their quarter of a billion pound midfield - cannot get a handle on a game against McTominay and Amrabat is staggering. So many expensive players that just do not impress, and they’re not making top four this year again. I think they’re fucked.

EDIT: “According to The Athletic, Chelsea’s near £900m splurge over the last three transfer windows has resulted in an amortised spend of just £157.2m.” This was then offset by player sales.

They’re not making £160m on this crop of players every year (not without selling ones they want) and that’s before they sign anyone else. They really needed to use this season to get top four. Again: I think they’re fucked.

Oh I am happy seeing chelsea being sh*t. They overpaid for these midfielders. They do not look like 100mil players. To see a yound 100mil midfield player then you will find one in real madrid. We are far better than them but lack squad depth.
