so you are saying Woodgate is average as well milli? Its all about opinions but my god do i disagree on this

I watched him at tottenham and i could'nt see much difference with him and dawson but I never watched his game be4 that so i,m judging on his spell with tottenham. But it susprise me when people put king in the same bracket as dawson and gallas king to me has everything.

well you said Dawson was average and that Woodgate was similar to Dawson - when Woodgate has played for us he has been far better than average! him and king together were superb

Having seen Gallas and Dawson lately, I'd play both if both were able. Big IF, but Dawson has been rubbish since coming back from injury, Gallas is full of mistakes and Bassong, well, is Bassong. In King, Woody and Kaboul our best three centre backs are injured.

Dawson has started making mistakes noticeably more since being switched to left centre back IMO. Not sure if its just coincidence or it has affected his concentration/positioning at all.

I would also be tempted to bring the two back in when fit, definately King, ideally partnering him with Kaboul.

A fully fit woodgate is a far bettr player than daws or gallas and a fully fir king even better than that

For that brief moment in time when fit King and Woody were our CBs we had one of the best central defenses anywhere. But that ever so brief moment will probably never be repeated. If either is match fit, though, they have to be considered.

For example against Milan, if one of them was healthy, I'd stick him in and move Gallas to RB for the game, I'm desperately afraid of seeing Hutton there

if were fit and available would play both with dawson in the middle of a 3.

bale and lennon as wingbacks and wilson/sandro/huddlestone sitting in front of back three.

modric and VDV in the middle

pav defoe up front

however no fucking chance

One things for certain - we've got some damn fine defenders. Personally I'd love to see Woody and King playing together again. I've absolutely loved our European adventure this year, but it's so sad that after all his years of service that King hasn't been able to prove himself in Europe more.

If both King & Woody are fit to play then I would start them both no doubt. None of our other defenders come close to these two when fit. Its as simple as that! Defense of:

Benny - King - Woody - Gallas

Not too shabby against the Milan strikers!
