Paris Saint-Germain appear to have activated an extension to Mauricio Pochettino's contract amid interest from both Tottenham and Real Madrid.

"Fend off"...more like maximise compensation. I can't see why a club would want to risk hanging on to a demotivated manager who wants out (assuming he actually does).

Poch actually does well out of this, because he'd be due more compensation if PSG decides to sack him.

It would be good to see Poch and his band of men back at Tottenham. Their good humour, intelligence and capacity to focus, would put Spurs in the right frame of mind day after training-day. Real Madrid, in likely appointing of Carlo Ancelotti, have read the signs.
