Andre says Sandro should be ok for next weekend.

Says it's just a big knock, Sandro thought there was ligament damage but there isn't.

The fact we were relying on Parker to do anything other than pass sideways shows how shite our supposed creative sparks were.

I wouldn't lambast Bale for not chasing every lost cause and losing 50-50 challenges or for keeping it simple.

We lack a schemer. Proper central midfield string puller

For the stat lovers out there:

OPTA
Possession 62% - 38%
Goal attempts: 18 - 4
On target: 10 - 1
Pass success: 86% - 69%
Tackle success: 76% - 70%

BBC
Possession: 60% - 40%
Shots: 16 - 4
On target: 8 - 1

So, did OPTA imagine 2 additional shots or did BBC miss them? :)
The BBC stats have been up the swanny all season tbh. At around 60 minutes their match page was telling me possession was 50/50. Was it bollocks. Seems to take up to 10 minutes for goals and subs to appear as well.

i hate how bale just doesnt try to go in any challenges at all, even if its beside him from a standing start, its not like every player is gonna try break his ankle

I can't remember which player it was. Gary Neville I think. He said that SAF always said to them that first and foremost they must always match the opposition for strength, work rate and desire. Only then will their technical quality show.

I don't think we did this today.

Yeah, I noticed the 50/50 possession stat. The only time anything in that match was 50/50 was when AVB and Harry did the old' Man Hug!! Equal love from both! :)

Redknapp knows Bale and Lennons game inside out and had his team play in a way to neutralise them. That meant we were relying on Dembele to create some openings and stretch them in the middle but M'bia shut his game right down. First player to do that to him all season. Other than that we were just a little off the pace and lacked the drive needed for any form of title race. You have to be able to get yourself up for the small games

In the context surrounding the game I think this was a decent point. Years gone by this is defintely a game we would have conspired to lose...in fact we did last year! So we're a point better off than last year, which is good.

A point away is a point away. They beat Chelsea the other day, they've got their tails up. We should have won, but it's no disaster.

And I couldn't disagree more with the "we're shit" brigade.

Our performance was pretty good. There was plenty to admire for anyone maintaining a degree of mental balance. The stats back it up as well. FFS, we had:
70% possession
Seven shots on target to their zero
Fifteen shots overall to their three
Pass success of 86%

That's really not a "shit" performance.

We still need a proper CF, and a midfield magician. That's not 'News'. We already know that, we've known it for a long time, and it's still true. Until we fill in those missing pieces we will continue to do everything but score against these teams.

Whilst I'm with you, insofar as not losing the plot because we didn't win, it was far from a good performance really Dan. We ended up with 55% of the possession with 16 shots to their 4, with 9 on target. However, of those 16 shots, 12 came from 20 yards out or more. We had 3 really good opportunities, the first was Defoe's shot from outside the box which their keeper pushed onto the post. The second was from the rebound when the keeper pulled off a quality save from Ade. The third was Walkers free kick. Other than them we did sweet FA that worked their keeper.

I really thought Bale was dire today, gotta ask WTF was he thinking when he got that long diagonal from Dawson, out wide on the left, which he volleyed behind. I'm all for players trying something out of the ordinary but that was ridiculous and wasted a very promising position. It seemed to me that he wanted to 'out-taarabt' Taarabt and I got more and more pissed off with him. The rest of the team, Dembele included, just looked clueless and pretty lethargic.

QPR were camped in their 18 yard box for long spells whilst we tried to draw them out. When we didn't, we got nothing more than pot shots when it was crying out for someone to drive into their box to, at the very least, draw a foul. They go to ground a lot do the QPR defence, I'm sure we could have worked a penalty with just a little sense and guile.

Very frustrating result today, more because the entire team, after the first 15 minute flurry of each half, just seemed to be physically and mentally languid.

And that's why Man Utd have win title after title. We're not there....yet. Just hope we get there in my lifetime which, given my age (40), lifestyle (lazy as f-k) and stress levels (three kids under 5; do the sums!) means they have about 5 years to sort it out!

I do hope AVB doesn't actually think Naughton is better than Benni and he's just easing him back slowly because KN cannot lace Discos boots

Can't wait to see Benni back next Sunday...

wow...qpr just took 'parking the bus' to a whole new level!! made for a sh*t game...always hard to break down a team getting 11 men behind the ball...anyone spot Harry saying 'I never said that' to avb after the game...clearly over those 'have to be a dope to fail at Chelsea' comments

AVB thoroughly outcoached by Harry. Not even the typical "lacking creativity" but they lacked hustle and even simple passing. AVB absolutely nothing except his stupid version of "tactics" which is switching the wingers when things aren't working out, which has never worked this season, and bringing on the typical subs at the typical time (70th for the 1st, 80th for the 2nd).

If the coaches were the other way around we all know Spurs would've walked it. (and before you bring up last season - different circumstances).

But you know, whatever. Buy 5 new players at 20 million apiece, that'll fix everything.

Bale, Lennon and Dembele can all be great, but sometimes we need someone to put their foot on the ball, gain that extra few seconds and do some magic. The only player looking to do that today was Dawson, bless. Maybe holtby is the solution, or carroll. I like sigurdsson, but from this year's evidence he doesnt like to operate in tight quarters.

Ade was a disgrace.

Funny, but i have never heard that about any footballer about to go away and play in an International Tournament..............just saying like.

What AVB should have done was to have started Dempsey, after all he will be after today!

Fuck me, first game in pub for ages, two pints of beer and feel like jelly, and a fucking 0 - 0, pissing great.

But you know what, apart from the fucking idiots that read the sun who know fuck all about spurs, "Sig's is wasted at spurs"....? To which I nearly put my glass through the back of his head, the twat.

It is also my first live game in the league after Newcastle on the opening day, My thoughts are as follows.

Fuck me, do teams really get to see our goal, even in my pissed head, I never felt like they was going to score today, QPR just offered nothing, I mean nothing.

In the same breath though, Spurs need to sign the like of Mout's, Willian or Leandro, we really miss some magic up front and no, I not slagging anyone off, because the guys gave it there all, I was not displeased with anyone, I can see Defoe has clearly improved his game and played some nice passes, we just miss the magic, the creativity, the guile.

Parker done great after Sandro got injured, not great news, but Parker is a beast too, we won't miss Sandro too much.

Overall 0 -0 is a bit of meh, neither here nor there, but we look good for our money. A little bit of magic is all we need.

So onwards and upwards

I love Spurs, and today is not the end of the world, although a 0 - 0 is really a bit boring.
