Fair play to Mourinho and the lads; they ended up salvaging a woeful season.

11th season in a row that we've finished in the top 6. This is the best league run in the club's history (it has been for a few seasons btw).

If arsenal win the fa cup, do we have to play the qualifying rounds?
Yes. We will be seeded in all three rounds and remember that all of them are single knockout games and not two legs this coming season.

You can occasionally get a good unseeded team in the final qualifier round - Torino stands out last year, but it's basically any side from a top league that doesn't normally qualify for Europe. But they were only a 1 in 12 chance to draw, and the other 11 were much weaker - the next best is probably AZ, AEK Athens, or Spartak Moscow.

Yeah I suppose the very worst case scenario we could face (without checking the seeding standings) is probably Real Sociedad, which would be a belter of a game.

But drawing them if they're unseeded is a 1 in 12 chance as you say.

Now that we're in Europa I hope we will refresh the squad with young talents. We have been linked with some young players who could really use an opportunity to adapt to a higher level of play in a fairly low-stakes environment -- players such as Eze, Aarons, and Kim Min-Jae -- so hopefully we will follow through with those type of signings.

They've probably got enough points to be seeded. The only interesting one below them who may or may not be seeded is AC Milan, who as it stands will be the qualifying participants from Italy. But even by Spurs standards the odds of that happening are small - it's somewhere around Arsenal winning the cup (33%) * Milan finishing below Roma (~66%) * Milan being unseeded (*66%) * us then drawing Milan (1 in 12) = ~1.2%

I’ll be honest, i know european football brings alot of money in but i really could not give a shit about the EL. I know if we win it we’ll get CL, but the competition is more of nuisance than anything and the Thursday/Sunday scheduling is very annoying. We’ve also seen the top clubs that go without european football for a season fare very well in the league. So thats also very annoying. If winning the league is impossible next season, I’d MUCH rather go for the fa cup and get top 4 to secure CL.

We won’t have to play qualifying finishing sixth I wouldn’t of thought.
We will if Arsenal win the FA Cup, then they get the group stage place, we get qualifiers and Wolves in 7th miss out unless they win the EL.

It's been explained in great detail in several threads now.

If we do end up with some part-time or amateur outfit early on, I'd love to see a team something like this - all players who could rotate into the XI for the group stage too, just not all at once

Whiteman
KWP, Tanganga, Foyth, Cirkin
Skipp, Gedson
Clarke, White, Sessegnon
Parrott

Europa league is a great competition. It's not perfect and could have been improved in structure, but Tottenham belongs in European club competitions.

Not too bad finish to a horrendous season. Also worth noting that it is very hard to compete in the top during a season that saw all of Liverpool, City, Chelsea and United having good to great seasons and finish top 4. When you have 5 big clubs and 4 of them finish top 4, you gotta keep some healthy perspective.
