Another slightly bizarre petulant statement

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/8414887.stm

"the referee was perfect!" - nothing compared to his previous rants but I do believe he's losing it.

Has the man ever given another team credit? Or lost with good grace? Mourinho, Ferguson, Wenger - all bad losers but Rafa is in my opinion top of the league table of cretins.

TV replays clearly showed that Mascherano went "over the top" on Ben-Haim. If that had been on his standing leg, he would have broken it. Straight red, and the studio pundits out here all agreed too. The fact that Mascherano has "form" with such tackles should dispel any doubt that it was "accidental."

I've a client who is related to one of the Liverpool players, it would appear not many of the players like him either.

That's fine when you are getting to CL Finals, players will happily play for a twat as long as he's a succesful twat but when you have just lost to the bottom team, are out of the CL and are looking like finishing outside the top 4 then it's a big issue.

No friends in the boardroom, no friends in the dressing room or the media. Dead man walking, only the scale of his pay off will keep him in a job into the new year. He better hope they win their next few games to at least give himself a glimmer of hope.

If that had been Michael Brown going in like Mascherano did on one of his players, he would have been fuming, it was a reckless challenge. If they did get rid of Rafa, the likely option seems to be our beloved Klinsmann, but I think that would be a big risk.

Benitez is a cock of the highest order. Under 'bastard' in the dictionary , it says 'see him'.

Look at what he does. He buys Keane for an exorbitant amount of money and then treats him like shit. He refuses to use Xabi Alonso until he has to, Alonso then forms a perfect midfield partnership with Gerrard, and so what does Benitez do in the off season? Sells him. From what I've heard from Liverpool fans, he treated Keane and Alonson like that because he didn't like them. How fucked up can a manager get - to sabotage his own team in order to grind a personal axe?

If you don't rate a player, fair enough. If you don't like them, don't damage the team you're managing because of it, at least.

Utter, utter cock.

He looks very pale in that video. Very subdued too. I think TP has it right. Dead man walking.

Actually, I was hoping they'd both stay on till the end of the season, then we'd only have Villa to worry about as competition for 4th place. Please don 't wish Benitez gone; he's our best hope of finishing above the Scousers.

I don't think Liverpool will fire him yet, they might not be able to financially. I think they would prefer to restructure in the summer.

When a manager has a massive payout in his contract for a club they had no previous love for does it not make fiscal sense to intentionally get the sack knowing he'll get another job somewhere else?

the worst thing about rafa is that not only is everyone else to blame when they lose, he shows utterly no respect to us, city, everton, villa when he says they are guarenteed a top 4 finish...

It's paranoia. Each week he feels the world is against him, which in turn prevents him focussing and causes him to lose the trust of his players. He is isolated, depressed and irritable. That can't be changed overnight.

Shame, eh?

i thought his response was pretty good??? I dont like the fella but if he was to lambast the ref (whether right or wrong) he wouldve got in a bit of bother, so taking the piss out of the ref like that wouldve probably had a similar response - minus the consequences.
