He wouldn't have to compete and overtake those teams to win trophies though. He could feasibly win a cup or two without playing more than one of those teams. The fact that EL now offers CL qualification and our squad looks well set up for a tinkerer like Benitez to have a good attempt at doing so is one of his biggest pros.

No we don't actually know, it's all just speculation that he's keen on returning to England and would be very interested in the job.

By all accounts though he is way down our list of candidates, which I just don't understand. If there's a chance he'll come we should be all over it like a rash imo.
