He makes a substitution on the hour, FACT.

If we did hire him then we'd be Liverpool fans second team...until we fired him

Not one for the purists but the man knows how to win things.

I'd support him in charge but not my first choice.

Lives near me, bit of a trek to Bulls Cross from here but not as far as Napoli!!

From first hand experience, genuinely decent bloke but still loves Liverpool.

LVG for me.

As much as I dislike Benitez, having TS in charge has given me an appreciation for any manager with a set plan, especially one who has won things.

So, assuming we can't get LVG or Ancellotti, I probably wouldn't want to kill myself entirely if Benitez took over.

Not a bad 2nd choice (i would have him behind LvG and Frank de Boer personally) truth be told.

but i could see his stay here being odd, fairly successful and ending in a cataclysmic exit

Also, would this win over the fans? Not saying we are storming the gates or anything, but Levy no doubt wants a big shiny name. Benitez would do the job, but I don't think it would be seen as a massive coup. United wont be as bad next season, so Levy's stewardship will be the focus of a lot of criticism if he doesn't get this one right.

It'll end up a similar scenario with Chelsea though - hounded out by the purists who demand the 'Tottenham Way', whatever you perceive that to be and back to square one.

Until a great proportion of our fan base change their views, we'll continue this shitty cycle and remain in flux.
