Madrid Spur on FTL said:
Just been speaking to Juandes agent.

The man is very discreet but:

Juande is VERY happy at Spurs and believes that if we get who he wants we will challenge for top four at least next year. There will be movement out but not wholesale if we get the few major pieces in place.

He is genuinely enjoying life and has been amazed by our support and the fact that the club matches his ambition.

Villa is not nailed on for Real......but he wouldn't confirm that we are any closer (he is also Villas agent)

Almost every day we are receiving approaches from agents trying to sell us players...Juande is a big, big draw and we should not be surprised if a VERY big signing is on the cards. (no names or hints given)

Nothing of any substance I know but thought I would share

Pretty interesting snippet from MadridSpur.

Eagerly waiting for the "very big signing", and hoping it to be signings.

I still stand by my underlying belief that Ramos is not long term. He has a track record of itchy feet.

The part that intrigues me the most is that Villa and himself share the same agent.

I am pretty sure that along with the capture of Modric we will at leat bring in one real top drawer player. Eto'o or Villa still seem to me a bit dream team esque but you just never know! Glad to hear Juande is loving life at the lane

fascinating that JR & Villa have same agent - that explains a fair bit re our linking - still don't think Villa's coming to us though

No they don't, Villa's agent is Jose Luis Tamargo, Juande's is Alvaro Torres.

I think that, as with Rafa Benitez, his achievements in Spain have made Ramos a much bigger draw than we may have realised when we first got him - certainly a bigger draw than Jol would have ever been. Imo Benitez' success at Liverpool has been down to his ability to attract top players rather than his tactical nous. If Juande can attract similar players then I personally believe he is every bit as good a tactician as Benitez (if not better) and therefore we could begin closing the gap on Liverpool in the league next season. Especially if the unrest up there restricts their transfer dealings this summer.

I think it's something like 9 or 10 clubs in 12 seasons, but...... that's very normal in Spain, especially when you're working your way up the lower leagues. I was worried about this when he joined but not so much now. Even if he does leave for Man U in a couple of seasons, we'll be the 2nd best team in England/the universe and a catch for anyone so it's all good. Ramos goes, Klinsmann/Mourinho/Fry comes.

Sorted.

On the subject of managers moving a lot Jose Mourinho's next club will be his fifth in 8 years and he spent 3 years at Chelsea, just goes to show managers move a lot,I don't know why Ramos gets all the attention for managing quite a few clubs when he has clearly been working his way up the managerial ladder.

ramos is massively respected in the game. imo that means players who wish to play for a coach like him will put up with being in the uefa cup in order to be part of potentially something big

Cheers for the info mate. Keep em coming.
Juande sure if a big name on the continent and players have taken notice of how attacking minded Spurs, and attackers in particularly - naturally - likes attacking teams so they can create chances/score goals.

A VERY big signing should mean wage like 70 000 - 100 000 a week and I don't think Mr. Levy will pay that kind of wages...

Sounds like great positive news, glad to see that both the club and Ramos are trying their best to help the club progress and get into the top four....

MadridSpurs reply...

"You are absolutely right, but they both have agents who deal with their international commercial rights and the same guy brokers international transfer deals too. It may well be that in any face to face negotiating Torres and Tamargo are the ones present but the leg work is done by someone else."
