absolutely brilliant news.... 'arry will dominate the club like any top manager does, no more DOF. His record speaks for itself, he will work wonders with the players as he has done with some mediocre players in the past.

Long live 'Arry Redknapp's blue and white army..

Didn't see it happening from a timing point of view, but not a complete surprise.

A few thoughts:

1. I don't think that Redknapp will come - He has just got a great squad at Portsmouth.
2. I am a litle saddened that Poyet has ben released.
3. From a timing perspective, it is awful. The players have backed Ramos publically (Woodgate anyway). I just hope that Clive perhaps can see the flaws with Ramos's tactic's and address them tomorrow. I was slightly positive for tomorrow, now I am pretty confident that we will lose.
4. I think that Levy if he sacked Ramos, he had to sack Commoli.
5. The Spurs soap opera continues.......

On point 4: maybe the timing is just right really. I would not be suprised if we put in a kind of "probationary period" in Ramos contract, saying that if we sack him within a year of his appointment that we don't have to give him such a massive payoff. We were within a day or so of him being at the club for 1 year, so we had to act.

I really am quite sad that poyet has gone. I disliked many things about the ramos era but poyet was not one of them

One of the positives is that we should get the obligatory, post-sacking, rebound results the next few weeks.

Harry said no Adams, definitely.

He also said our squad was unbalanced and soft centered, although talented. He said he'll be addressing that.

Thank fuck.

Maybe, and this is speculating, as there's no specifics over whether they were all fired or all left, Levy did it again and went after Twitchers, Ramos found out, everyone else walked on principal?

I bet you're absolutely right. Well, about it being the same situation than with Ramos. I don't think we tapped BAR up as I don't think we needed to.

Assuming that reports that Ramos had told us for months that he wanted the gig (rather than the peculiar idea that Levy and Kemsley somehow forced the whole situation) are true, then I can all too readily believe that Redknapp has been telling us for years that he'll come at the drop of a hat.

With that knowledge, we knew that we could afford a mass walk-out, which Levy could quite conceivably have engineered after a combination of our shit form, a players revolt and the shareholders whines.

Pure speculation but I imagine Gus long knew the Newcastle gig is there if and when he wants it, Ramos knows the same with Athletico (as with Alvarez) and the writing was on the wall for Comolli weeks ago.

The timing could have been better - but then it could have been worse and the impression of us acting swiftly is everything. Far better that we wait to sack Comolli and send the other three on their way in one 'Night of the Long Knives' rather than dragging the whole business out. The club needed to give the fans and public a positive, proactive impression of the club and this does it.

Even if Harry Redknapp is bent as a nine bob note.

 For those who complained about never hearing from Ramos, Harry is never OFF the media, he talks to anybody and everybody ALL the time, and way more than any other manager in the PL.

 Was going to post exactly the same, Lily.

BAR's already done more media interviews about Spurs than Juande Ramos in his 12 months at the club...and he hasn't even been appointed yet.

It must have been a player revolt in some way related to the Bentley incident. Othersiwe it's just too drastic the night before a big game. Something must have happened that made it impossible for them to stay and I can only think of senior players contacting Levy.

Nah! Levy realised his last appointments were crap, panicked big time and made more crap appointments; he should realise that he's the putz that should go!

Say what you want about Levy but the man knows how to take action. No use pointing fingers, fuck the lot of them out the door. Bang. Gone. Fuck 'em.

And if we get Harry Redknapp in without a Director of Football I think it's a fucking fantastic, gutsy move. He has swallowed the £15 mil he's gotta pay ramos and he has effectively admitted making a mistake in bringing him in and is doing something about it.

Fair play Levy my son, if this gets us out of the fucking mess we're in then I fucking salute you big man.

Fair play to you Levy, your the best Circus ringmaster I have seen in a long time - the Moscow state circus ain't got shit on you

Spot on. they will all be well provided for, no need to worry on that score.

Must be killing Levy a year after the compo for Jol, Hughton and Seville he has to lay it out again all over again for Comolli, Gus and Ramos' team PLUS the £5m to Pompey

I bet the shareholders are loving this. Goes to show you how inability to set realistic goals, correctly measure success and show some foresight can really cost you

Think people are being harsh on Levy, after all Ramos qualified us for Europe and won us a cup last season.

Was Ramos better than Jol - in terms of winning us something last season and pulling us out of bottom 3 then yes.

Is Ramos the right manager to have this season - No, he's been poor.

What is Levy supposed to do?

But to say Ramos was our worst manager ever does an injustice to his cup win last season.

But yes it was time for Ramos to go, all the best to Harry and well done to Levy for spotting that we needed a change.

Was Ramos the best manager we ever had - in terms of spanish managers whose name begins with J and surname rhymes with Hamos, then yes

Thank god for Levy's eagle eye, I for one thought that we were on course for a top 4 finish, thank god he had the foresight to see that we might have fallen just short of that - well spotted!

The club could have done the sackings one by one, we need time to discuss each individual sacking.

Spurs Community Exclusive

Evidence from last night's extraordinary meeting between the management of THFC and Spurs has come to light. Here is - allegedly - how the meeting panned out:

Comolli: Okay, so it's one year since Ramos and Gus joined us. Things haven't gone well but we hope to turn the corner...any news from Joe Lewis boss?

Levy: No. He just said 'second season, you're all on board...'...and, erm, who left this coffee cup here?

Poyet: Sorry, Daniel. I meant to clean it last night.

Levy: Yeah? Well that's not good enough. You're sacked.

[All laugh. They think it's a joke]

Poyet: What?!!?!?

Levy: I will not have un-cleansed coffee cups in Tottenham Hotspur Productions. The plague started from a malattended work surface.

Ramos: What are you doing, Daniel?

Levy: You're sacked too.

Ramos: What?!? Why???

Levy: Because you do this all the time [tutts]

Ramos: What?!? [tutts]

Levy: You see! You did it again! You're definitely sacked. Now, Damien, you're a Frenchman, I don't want this to be unpleasant.

Comolli: You're sacking me as well?!?

Levy: Yes I am.

Comolli: You rotten shit.

Levy: Yeah? Well, you're a rotten shit too.

Levy: [to Barber] Go, go, go, go, go, go, start the car.

Levy: [from next room] Hello, it's Daniel again. I've locked you all in the boardroom so you don't get me. But you can leave by the fire escape. You haven't got a second season. I just didn't have the guts to say that earlier.

[Clive Allen comes in with a pipe of Pringles and he and Alan spend a lovely afternoon at an Owl Sanctuary]

so does anyone think we'll get in another DoF? Isn't harry redknapp one of those managers who doesn't spend well when he has a lot of money available and he's better at picking up bargains that might not necesarily be of the quality when need in the long run?
