If the ITK in the Richarlison thread is correct, then we really need to try and wrap up a deal for Raphinha or we’d have missed out on two of our main targets. Add that to missing out on Bastoni and it starts to look like less of a positive window.

Come on Spurs, get him in!

Didn't we miss our top two targets in January and then got Bentancur and Kulu? so maybe this is the sweet spot...

We're still winning the window currently!

They player hasn’t said yes to anyone apart from Barca pre transfer window . Time is needed to mull over his preference and the best package ? very normal in big deals. Also convincing the selling club on what they thinks the best package to release him from his contract time is needed .
Noo. We want it now. If this was Fifa or football manager. Emotions mean nothing. It should be as easy as accept offer or decline offer.

Being sarcastic BTW. Real life these things take time and I fully agree with you here.

Depends. Do we really know who the top targets are?

What we do know is that FP negotiates for numerous players for each position. So on what are we basing who our top target is? Seems to me its the one the media is making the most noise about. Tbh that doesn't really mean anything other than that is the one with most leaks, or drives the most clicks for the media sources.

It also gives leeds the chance to rebuild their side. 100m to spend.

They are being sensible. Might as well extract £100m from these two before they run their contracts down. Do it early enough and you might snag a couple of highly rated bargains. Players will also look at them and think they are a viable stepping stone club. It's more like the german model but English clubs are too afraid of it (see Zaha at Palace).

Why do City get an England international at that price and Raphinha is quoted over 60?

i am always scratching my head how City get top players for relative cheap sums except Grealish. Really do not trust that club, probably sending 20 mill another way to the owners via the middle east those sneaky bastards .

45m is a steal for Phillips but then so is 30m ish for Bissouma
They already have a replacement lined up for Raphina so no issue there. I'm sure he'll want a CL club.

Not sure Philips with 2 years on his contract is worth more than 45m tbh.

Do not get me wrong, neither do i, as i hate his sideways and backwards passing, do not know how he will fit into City. But talking about value for a England starter in todays market.

They can not expect clubs to fork up 60 for Raphinha after this, i just do not get it, unless there are some fishy deal on the side with City :)
