Just pay up, we need to start acting like Chelsea, if we just need him a litle, just go for him so Arsenal do not get him. It is like UTD of the old did and Chelsea thereafter. Just make sure our competition do not get stronger :D

The only figure i have seen recently for Antony was €40, I haven’t seen anything about 70 mil. I would be shocked if that is the case tbh, but obviously he’s not worth that.

It came from that top Dutch source from De Telegraaf. Saying they put a price of €70m on Antony and €50m on Timber and Martinez when Utd came knocking.

Utd will have to pay a huge premium on Ajax players this summer as Ajax aren’t going to be thrilled with Ten Haag coming back to rob them

Yeah they'll definitely have to pay a premium I'm sure. Maybe an extra 20-25% above what they'd ask from other clubs.

I've basically convinced myself that he'll end up being maybe a fraction below Di Maria in quality. I'm doomed to disappointment any way you slice it on this one.

We got a fantastic deal on Bissouma. Sometimes you have to push out and go slightly higher than you would like for the right player. I’m sure Paratici is quoted as saying something along those lines.

The amount he creates for Leeds is a joke. I’m quite keen on Fantasy Premier League and you get a hell of a lot of stats nerds that are into that game. Raphinha is exceptionally highly rated and is well known to be ridiculously unlucky not to have some of the leagues best numbers. He needs to play in a better team.

I think he passes the eye test too. Especially when you consider how quickly we attack now. He’s a great counter attacking player and would slot in brilliantly with our current front 3 imo.

Seems to be some rumours in Spain that Barca have ruled out signing him (they want to get Ousmane to renew and also sign Di Maria on a free).

Could be all set for a shootout between the London clubs as the Athletic said in the OP.

He’s fucking quality. Totally agree that he could explode if put in a better team. There’s no doubt in my mind that his output would improve lining up alongside the rest of our forwards as compared to the likes of Bamford.
His xA was 6.93, so he could definitely put up better numbers working with Son, Kane & Kulusevski.

If we've actually got £65m to spend on a forward why aren't we going all out for Nkuku? Better player and can actually cover all three positions.
Its a world cup year, better to stay at Leipzig this season.

And in so many of his clips, he's attracting two defenders but still breezing past them. At Spurs opponents wouldn't be able to double up on him without leaving Kane, Son/Deki, or the wingbacks in acres of space. I really think he'd improve a lot just by virtue of being surrounded by better players.

People saying he should be better in a better team. What numbers is he posting with Brazil and playing with people like Neymar and not Bamford ?

Similar to Bissouma. Take a player that looks class in a bottom half PL team and put them in a top 4 side with an elite coach and watch them explode.

9 games, 3 goals/2 assists in a total of 563 minutes. He seems to start most games for them and has only joined the squad in October of 2021.

Basically what people were chatting about Adama Traore doing last summer with the difference that Raphinhia actually already has very good end product.

Our budget is finite, yes, so we can't just pay over to get stuff done.

The other side of that coin is as long as we get everything Conte wants within that budget, does it it really matter how much each individual player costs?

Yeah this is it. Every one can't be a bargain but the few cheaper deals (Perisic, Bissouma) you get surely give you scope to overpay for one or two.

In the forward market at least it seems like the bidding starts at £50m for anyone decent.

Well it shouldn't if we're working solely on the premise of giving the manager what he wants.

But I guess the issue is that all these deals have different negotiating time lines and will impact one another in terms of our overall budget.
