Wow. I think Vertonghen's been outstanding in the last few months and for me, he's now very close to his 12-13 form. I can understand someone not agreeing that he's been 'outstanding' but to not rate him at all is just bizarre.

I'm optimistically disagreeing with you there. Poch's attitude is 'if you're fit enough and not injured, you can run for 90 minutes' - hence his notorious training schedules.

I'm an eternal Spurs optimist admittedly, but I'm banking on the conditioning of our players making the fixture congestion bearable. I'm not necessarily saying we're fated to win everything of course, but I think we'll perform no matter what.

a 1-1 draw would take it to extra time, 2-2 3-3 4-4 etc would see us go through. obviously any spurs win would as well.

2012-2013 was that the season Vertonghen played at left back mainly?

Vertonghens better performances were at left back, he got into the EPL team of the season based on those stats acquired playing there .. He's also preferred at left back for Belgium.

I just think we need to improve at CB bizarre maybe.

Crazy really they had Mata in a two man midfield with Carrick 442.
