Another slow, boring and abject performance.

Thought the defence and Hugo did well and dealt with most of their crosses well.

The front 3 were poor again today but they need some help. Bentancur and PEH won't unlock teams and that is why the wing back positions are absolutely pivotal in a Conte team.

And simply put, ours were woeful today. Neither Sess or Royal can pass, beat a man or cross (neither of them can defend well either). This means teams aren't concerned with us playing it out wide (as seen with the numerous times today) meaning they can focus on keeping the front 3 quiet.

Until we can improve those 2 positions then we will never be free flowing and create chances. The question is will Conte be here to do that?

Bringing on Sanchez and not changing our shape when we needed to win was probably as astonishing as Conte persisting with wing backs when we don't have any.

Changing the system so late on wouldn't have been a good ideal... System changes ideally should be done at half time.
Tactical changes during the game that's different, however we just don't have the squad depth or quality.

Bergwine says hi.
Did you watch Leicester away.
Baffling he brought on Sanchez.

Why is Kane never subbed? Lucas won us a dangerous free kick when he came on...Bergwyn should have come on for either Son or kane...we also need to drop both Royal and Sessegnon...play Kulu and Reguilon if he insists on 3-4-3....start either winks or lucas to help in midfield and just switch to 3-5-2...something...anything...gooners are shit and we should be finishing above them!!

Should just turn this into the Romero award. Class again today, did two players work considering Royal decided to have the day off.

Front three were awful, wing backs were depressingly tepid and our CM2 was just nothing (again).

I miss Skipp.

we have championship level players at both wing back positions.
it is not their fault, but this formation does not function with them.
All the same we should have attempts on target - shocking.

Our box was peppered with crosses and we luckily kept a clean sheet, so credit to lloris, romero, dier and davies.
Of those I randomly picked lloris.
Doesn’t function with a midfield that can’t get the ball to them either. Hjojberg is just so slow at passing.

We were lucky to get a point in the end.

Overall I feel the team played methodically, but lacked ideas when the opposition defended deep and in an organized manner.

We seem well-drilled (in terms of how we we want to play and defend), but there isn't enough creative outlet to break Brentford down.

Observations on individuals:

Romero did well defensively. I think he is a cut above the rest.
Davies also did well. What he lacks in ability he makes up for with positioning and some adventure.
Royal ran alot and was showing up in the right positions but his technical quality is poor. Also he got skinned a few times but Romero covered him.
Kane linked up well but dropped too deep. Didn't have much service. Similar case with Son.
Kulu was tidy in posession and has good technique and clever movement. However he didn't really have the pace to beat a man out wide.

Easier to talk about who was poor.
Dier, seemed intent on kicking the ball to them at every opportunity, very poor today
Royal, what can you say, so so poor, how did we sign this clown.
Kulu, poor today, but with Royal behind him he has no chance.
Sess, poor, looks devoid of confidence.

Conte's whole system depends on attacking wing backs with quality and our pick of the 4 is out for the rest of the season.
Would not be against trying to convert Berg or moura for rest of the season, cannot persist with Royal on that side and the other pair on the left side are so inconsistent, neither good enough either.

None deserved.,
includes Conte.
Champions' League, you're having a laugh.
No changes until the 74th. minute and then minimal.

The batteries are running low. We performed above ourselves to get into this position (4th) once we got there we didn't know how to maintain it. I never would have thought 4th was on earlier in the season. The team gave us all some hope but now have run out of steam. For me its over-sorry.

More twists and turns to come but royal should never play again , trying anything bergwyn or a reserve player must be better

Agree with your last bit but Winks should never play again for Spurs. I’d rather Harvey white.

Totally agree. His body shape is all wrong when receiving the ball from the defence (always facing his own goal rather than playing on the half turn) meaning he needs 3/4 touches to open up his body to scan the pitch. Does my bloody head in.
Barring a few players we’re a squad filled with cloggers and therein lies most of our problems - we simply don’t have technical players to break the lines play quick 1-2’s out of defence etc.

Don’t get me started on our woeful pressing. Brentford managed to play out from the back with consummate ease all game.

Let’s face it, our squad is piss poor

Definitely agree. Some poster mocked me when I said Doherty had become one of our best and most important players after we lost him for the season, hope he understands better now why I said that.

Don't single out Royal though, Sess should join him in being kept out from the team/squad.

Have to say, thats the worse ive seen him play.

However, ive had a positive intervention yesterday and dare i sat it, I now feel we can do it, why not. Really we have nothing to lose. With Royal playing his part, points being dropped by them lot and us possibly getting point/s at Liverpool. Its losing out to them lot that should motivate us to give it our best shot.

I think you mixed up Emerson and Romero mate ? (I agree with the rating at the bottom, just not the one where you’ve given the clown a 7 ?)
