Bentancur is so good. Definitely a 50m-60m player. One of the best midfielders in the league, already. One of our best bargains we've ever signed.

Voted for Hojbjerg. He was everywhere, plugging holes in defense and bombing forward to support the front 2.
One of my usual MOM’s pick, Bentancur, had a quieter game than usual.
Don’t quite get the support for Sessegnon’s MOM vote? He had a good game overall but not a MOM performance but hey it’s all onions?.

Beastancur played well today but I also thought PEH was great today. The 352 does allow those two to go forward and they did, we saw they did and create good openings for Sess and for themselves.

Our defence is solid and stands it ground well, Dier has been a stallwart.

I thought it was a good 25 mins until we scored then it was a bit of the same old but against a Brighton side who are so good to watch and play such great football, I didnt mind that. Just felt like we retreated which isnt good for my heart rate and feel the top two or three are isolated.

One bug bear I really am though not liking is when we get the ball our players seem to run with it, stop, then pass back and that I guess is because we either dont have the movement or the numbers up front. It just becomes too deep in our half and we pass and pass and get nowhere really. We really need our wing backs or players in generally to take players on.

Overall though great result against a tough team - onwards and upwards.

Team effort for me, played well under incredibly emotional circumstances but no one really stood out above anyone else. Not really sure why Sess is getting praised, he was solid enough but I’m honestly a bit non-plussed by him still. Højberg as well getting praised but he frustrated the life out of me. Doc did well, but ironically more for his defensive work than his attacking contribution

I thought Højbjerg was MOTM. Everyone played pretty well. Bissouma gave away a silly yellow which left him on a bit of a tightrope. Overall it was a very good win against a top side (Brighton unbeaten at home in 7 months). I was a little disappointed our CM did not get to grips with their #10 (McCallister) a little better and he was very influential for them from the 30 min mark onwards. Another game where our forwards were not quite sharp enough (especially Sonny), and could have been 2 or 3 nil.

Betancur reminds me of a modern day version of John White as he glides around the field constantly snuffing out attacks while looking for those killer passes into the goal area.
