Back four good. Midfield variable. Front line pretty shite.

MOTM Emerson for a good all round game. But it could be any of the back four really.

Going with Pedro for the takeaway and fantastic shot, but a shout for Emerson who had by far his best showing at CB.

Tempted to do a "Lee Dixon" and give it to Porro because of the quality of the strike but Emerson had a really good game so he gets it.

Emerson was immense at the back, clear MOM for me.

Porro goal was great and he had a decent game along with Davies, Udogie, Vicario, Bentancur and Lo Celso.

The rest - a mixture of not good enough and stuck in first gear.

Emerson was running things. And Davies. So much to admire in our team nowadays - what difference does Ange make. Bet the players love turning up each day.
EDIT. Loved Bents composure tonight

I went with Davies. Calm and collected throughout.

Not a very inspiring game. Turgid upfront by all 3. Johnson started well then just couldn't do anything.

Kulu wasteful.

Richie all over the place, as shown when he couldnt find the ball after cocking up a chance.

Back line was fine. Although lost their men a few times but again, in context they were great.

Skipp got Pelters as per normal and he wasn't amazing. But he wasn't that bad either. Made a few good passes and closed down upfront and created a chance. Clearly not the right man though.

Great to have Bentancur in, but he obviously needs a few more games. Didn't really impose himself.

gLC had a good game but he does love to roll around.

Decent cameos by the subs. Shout to Bryan Gil as he caused Burnley issues.

And a wonder strike by Porro. Need more of that! Take a bow.

Vicario - 7 nothing to do good with the ball

Porro - 7 great goal

Emerson & Davies - 7 two full backs at centre back done the job

Udobie 7 - too good to be on the pitch above the rest of them

Bentacur 7 - at times pure quality but rusty and tired

Skipp - 2 - seen enough now he can leave

Lo Celso 5 - very poor again just not sure on him

Kulu - 6 - tired and looked heavy not his best

Johnson 5 - tried hard again just needs a bit of luck if son is in his positions today we are probably 3-0 up

Richarlison 3 - love the bloke but honestly he’s just not at the level he will never create his own chance and he will never ever score 20 plus a season for us he’s just not this sort of level he’s a not a top 6 player simple as that

Hojbjerg 6 - actually looked better when he got on but made some stupid choices

Scarlett 6 - looked sharper and more polished than the Brazilian

Sessegeon 2 - forgot he played for us still scared and timid

donely 5 - made some good runs and put himself about he tried

Gil 2 - honestly he couldn’t play u12’s in this country he is too weak

Easy one for me. Emerson. So impressed with the professionalism and adaptation of him and Davies to play as a centre back duo.

Emerson MOTM for me by a distance. Davies also very good.
Udogie solid as ever and very good going forward in the first half, looked to be conserving energy second half. Porro actually had one of his worst games by his high standards this season. Lots of misplaced passes and poor delivery from set pieces, but absolute banger of a goal to put us through.

Great that Bentancur got more minutes under his belt and hoping he’s injury free

Glad it’s over as it was a painful watch.

COYS!

In a match that seriously lacked final third quality, the one moment of quality in that area by Pedro means he’s my motm. Bentancur, Davies, and especially Emerson fantastic overall performances.

Vicario 7 - reassuring
Porro 7 - sloppy all game but redeemed himself by taking the game by the scruff of the neck with that strike
Emerson 9 - absolute class
Davies 8 - solid display
Udogie 7 - lively performance
Bentacur 6 - not quite himself
Skipp 4 - honestly forgot he was on the pitch
Lo Celso 6 - nothing to get excited about
Kulusevski 5 - poor
Richarlison 5 - worked hard but technique let him down
Johnson 6 - flattered to deceive
Subs
Holjberg 5 - the usual curate’s egg
Gil 6 - run his little cotton socks off
Scarlett 6 - lively
Sessegnon 6 - forgivably rusty but good to see him taking responsibility
Donley 5 - not given the opportunity to play to his strengths

I thought Udogie was outstanding. The amout of times he won the ball back with his positioning/reading....lost count.

Such a strong, elite defender already.

Emerson obviously fantastic as well.

If Udogie was on the bench he would get MOTB. He impresses me every time he plays. He is up there with Bale as one of the best young talents we’ve ever bought (That I’ve seen play for us)

Royal and Davies deserves all the praise and not just for this game. They have been so good at covering the CB positions, it’s just incredible. They have both been given a bunch of stick by the fans but remained professional and now playing vital roles that have kept us in the top 6 of the table.
Ange has managed this squad so well, Conte and Maureen must look at us and feel like shit. I really doubt either of them could have handled the amount of injuries Ange has had to deal with and remain so competitive . I think we would be at most 9th in the PL with either of them.

Just watched the second half again. Neat highlight of how people do their ratings. Hojbjerg was absolutely terrific, including making a fantastic block to stop a goal. Yet he misplaced two passes and gets excoriated by a couple of people. Take a look at yourself, lads.

Thought Gil did OK too.

Defence - 8.5. Vicario didn’t have much to do really. Interested to see why he was tearing Sessegnon a new arsehole. Royal and Davies were absolutely brilliant together and it’s gutting that Davies looks to be out for a bit. Please God let us get Dragusin in. Udogie and Porro did OK, obviously the goal was a belter, set-pieces didn’t work.

Midfield - 7. Bit up and down. Nobody really took the game by the scruff of the neck until Hojbjerg came on, and then he had to go to centre-back. Some really nice passages of play involving GLC and/or Bentancur. Can’t really tell if Skipp did OK or not at first glance, but he seemed entirely peripheral for long periods. Think they created a decent amount but the problem was…

Forwards - 5. Not good enough, sadly. We all saw it. Kulu had one of those games where he just slows everything down at RW. Johnson was found with so many good passes at LW, his first touch was terrific and then…nothing. Richy was just Richy. Put himself about, worked hard, wasn’t very good. It just didn’t work, and was the main reason we didn’t put them away in the first 20 minutes. Some of it was unlucky deflections, most of it was poor decision-making. Johnson was better at RW but still problematic.

Subs: Thought Hojbjerg was excellent against a tiring Burnley. Scarlett did fine. Gil did what he does with some nice play just not quite on it. Donley didn’t really get a chance to do anything. Sessegnon…we’ll see. I still think he can do a job at LB/LW if his head is right though I suspect that will never come.
