Is there a team option? thought the whole team played for each other as a solid unit and was a pleasure to watch, everyone played great but if i had to choose it would be Kane.
Im going to do it a bit differently

Hugo - Excellent as usual;
CBs - hardly put a foot wrong and looked like they knew where each other were so PLEASE give them a chance to form a partnership;
Fullbacks - much better from Vlad, did very well going forward, better defensively too, Davies was solid
Midfield - Milan away in CL the last time i remember our midfield playing with that level of commitment. special mention for Eriksen and the blocking that he did;
Strikers - Pleased for Bobby, Kane fast becoming the team talisman due to his effort and direct running.

Good all round team performance.

Special mentions to;
Lennon - set the tone with his energy and pressing. It seems to have finally sunk in with the team that 'pressing' involves an attempt to tackle instead of just closing down but allowing opponents to pass at will.
Davis - kept Coleman quieter than he has been against us for ages.
Fazio - totally dominant in the air and hardly noticed Lukaku.
Bentaleb - I'm often critical of him but he really put in a shift. Obviously knows how to play alongside Mason.
Soldado - Worked hard, linked well and hit the net.

MOM - Kane. led from the front and constantly pressed the Everton back line. Closely run by Eriksen who won loads of tackleds and made the midfield tick. Vertonghen not far off MOM too.

Kane was MoM for me, but what impressed me most was the quick one touch passing that the midfielders seemed to be able to do even when they were being closed down. It is what many of us have been complaining that was lacking for a while. On this performance I think that team should start at Chelsea, maybe apart from Vlad as it's not his usual position.

Genuinely very nice to read such positive comments from so many people, been a while since that's happened.

Hopefully we can kick on from here and that performance was exactly what we needed in time for Wednesday.

If poch played the same eleven on Wednesday I won't be disappointed.

It was good to hear even Neville saying that it was the first time in a long time that he actually enjoyed watching Tottenham. Talk about being damned by faint praise!

So proud of the whole team today apart from Chiriches. They all worked so hard and we actually looked like a team that wanted to be out there and win. Everyone deserves a pat on the back! best Tottenham performance I've seen at home for a long time.

Absolutely

PROUD of that performance. Unlike that other proud thread after getting stuffed by Man City!!!!!!!

For ages now ive felt pretty guilty that we have Hugo in our team as he deserves so much better. Imo he could play for any team in the world. Didnt feel bad about it today though, that was a performance that all our fans and the players themselves could be proud of. Shame he didn't get a clean sheet but he still pulled off a great save against Coleman.

We lined up differently today - it seemed to be a 4-4-1-1 with Lennon instructed to offer genuine width rather than cut inside and Eriksen as the other wide player tucking in to create a central three when necessary. And it worked. Got to give credit to Poch for changing things.

All in all it was an excellent team performance. MotM has to be Kane for me. His challenge for the second goal epitomised his performance today - his work rate was phenomenal.

Indeed. Doing some ratings later, still too buzzing at the moment.

Pretty sure Kane will be my MOTM, although Bentaleb and Lennon were excellent to. But Kane had a massive hand in both goals and worked tirelessly from the first to the last whistle.

I am going to get negged to buggery for this, but was I the only one who thought the team shape and selection looked a lot like something Tim would have come up with? Lots of homegrown youngsters, 4-4-2 ish, no holding midfielder, Eriksen pulling strings from the left, Lennon bulking out the midfield on the right...

Glad to see Poch got there in the end ;)

Our game plan is to go behind early and then rise like the Phoenix to prove everybody wrong.
Academy midfield, Kane MOM, my cup runneth over. Soldado scores the winner. I'm quite overwhelmed. Pity we haven't got the whole week to enjoy it.

Lloris...........7.....Quelle un homme. Well screened today but ever ready.
Chiriches.....6+ You just hope his inevitable error will not cost us a goal. Like his attitude.
Fazio............7+..Big strong boy settling in nicely.
Verts. 8....Best performance for some time. Even looked interested.
Davies..........7... That's more like it. Played a dangerous opponent well.
Bentaleb.......8....Tim's legacy. Thanks.
Mason..........7....Busy but not quite as effective today.
Eriksen.........7+..Protected Davies and once again the orchestrator.
Lennon.........8.Almost the Lennon of former days. Great assist and usual stint defending.
Kane.............8+..Just pips one or two others for MOM. Great commitment and no little skill.
Soldado........8-....So pleased for the man. He's hopefully played through the crisis.

Mauricio........Got it more or less right today.Not sure about subs but tactics and motivation spot on.
......................He takes the blame and therefor gets the plaudits when it all goes right and it certainly did today.

Maybe so, but he didn't include Adebayor and Poch seems to have made this us (this match anyway) press a lot better than we did with Sherwood.

For all the talk of systems and this and that, it comes down to application and attitude at the end of the day. Poch has ended up picking the players who are prepared to put the real effort in.

I said before the game I was really happy with the team, as soon as it was released and most were slagging it every way since Sunday. But it was the fact that it contained a front 6 who could all fight and scrap and have shown that from time to time - bar Eriksen.

And guess what, that was Eriksen's best performance without the ball. Because its infectious, the rest of them wanted it and worked like fuck from the first whistle to the last.

In fairness Tim got performances out of Ade, but yes Tim never really got us pressing effectively, whereas Poch seems finally to have got us there.

Bentaleb, Mason, Kane, Davies, Fazio, Vertonghen and Lennon all superb.

Glad Soldado got a desperately needed goal, if he can go on a run would be fantastic for us as a team.

Chiriches was ok but we still massively miss Walker. Him coming back in is going to add a very exciting element to our play and one vital in a Poch team.

Lamela sub backfired and possibly only negative on what was great game. So much patience is needed for what is clearly a very talented player. He's trying far too hard which is a negative at times. He'll come good though.

Good to see Paulinho being integrated more. Did well when came on and sub basically killed the game.

Main thing I liked from today is that all the players gave their all, they cared more than I've seen for a long time. There's still obviously work to do but today felt like a 'click' moment.

I've no idea if anything in what rumours were but I don't want or think Ade and Capoue should get back in this squad.

Today also highlighted how ill suited Dembele is to a Poch team, Bentaleb coming in was the basis for improvement. It sparked others too.

All about the partnerships that I hope we stick with until end of season. Fazio & Vertonghen, Mason & Bentaleb, Kane & Eriksen. Keep these stable relationships and swapping others in or out should lead to far more consistency.
