Romero giant, Maddison won us the game
Sarr grew big time in second half when needed
Kulusevski fought as well

Clown game by Bissouma. Richarlison not "great", should have scored at least once.

Plenty of good, battling performances out there today.
Mickey MotM for me but closely followed by Cuti, Deki, Porro and Sarr. Sarr was a bit sloppy with his passing at times but never stopped running.
Thought Udogie was bloody good too.
Madders goes without saying these days, just a class player.
Didn't think Sonny was great today and apart from the chances he should've put away, I thought Richarlison looked pretty good. Linked up with Destiny really well a few times.
Really strong left hand from Big Vic for one save and his passing out is much better than I thought it was supposed to be.

VDV obvious choice for me.

But there are a lot of players on close 2nds. Kulu, Porro, Romero, Sarr, Maddison all great.

Won’t rate them all but special mentions to: Vicario, Romero, VDV, and Kulusevski.

Vicario may not be AS young as some of the others, but for his age he’s so assured. Great at calming the back line down, and makes some really good saves. His contribution is already getting a little overlooked solely because it’s so notable how well the likes of VDV are doing. However he is such a good keeper and a massive part of this team already.

Romero and VDV are a fantastic pairing, and Kulu ran himself into the ground today.

Other good performances as well, but those are the ones that really stood out for me.

Sarr for such a matured performance after we went down to 10 men.

Kulusevski for working tirelessly as the outlet up top after we went down to 10 men.

Van de Ven for the goal and just being a beast in defence.

Cant just between the 3, but maybe Sarr just nicks itm

Special mention to Maddison for yet another brilliant assist. Aside from that, he was sub-par for his usually high standards today.

Romero stood out for me, then Maddison. I thought Porro had a nightmare as RB, but he got better after the Emerson substitution, as did Sarr.
Hojbjerg was also very good.

Dammit lads, put it to bed FFS. Tbh, three points after that first 20 mins was - surprise. Three points after the red card was a fucking miracle.

Vicario - 8.5. Was worried he’d get exposed today by the endless crosses and set-pieces. He did…fine really. Factor in the competence on the ground and the by-now-routine shotstopping and he was terrific. It’s a mark of how much confidence he engenders that we all thought he might have saved that terrible miss they had at the back post anyway.

Porro - 8. Did well going forward, was horribly exposed when we went down to ten but that wasn’t his fault. I’d rather he takes the free kicks on the edge of the box, thank you very much.
Romero - 8.5. Just that one time when you worried that he’d lost his head but he held it together, was generally strong, and was essential at repelling the barrage in the second half.
Van de Ven - 9 MOTM. Like Romero, did his job second half but his awareness on the goal was perfect. Did a nice job carrying it forward when we had 11.
Udogie - 7. Like Porro was exposed in that period where they ran us ragged. Felt like he over-committed at times and his use of the ball could have been better but he covered so much ground.

Bissouma -5. Bit harsh because he was integral to us obliterating them first 20 mins but the second yellow was criminal. Hope he learns from that.
Sarr - 7. Hard to score him because for me he was so profligate with the ball in dangerous positions - particularly at the start of the second half - but then he was terrific when we were trying to shut the game down.
Maddison - 8.5. Didn’t think it was his best game but this is precisely why he’s so important. Didn’t always make the right decision but without him we do not win that game. I think we probably lose it.

Richarlison 5.5. I mean, just put it in the net FFS. It’s genuinely game over before five mins are up. We spent the whole second half thanking our lucky stars that their players were shite and couldn’t score when one of ours had just been the same. I was and remain confident that our kid who hasn’t played five minutes in the Prem would have done a better job, and that’s extremely concerning.
Son - 7. So obvious that he’s injured and needs a break. Did a good shift but it would have been terrific to bring Brennan Johnson on earlier.
Kulu - 8. Much like Sarr, was frustrating for a long time then absolutely crucial in the second half, particularly when Son went off.

Hojbjerg - 7.5. Just about managed to hold it together until we went five at the back, after that he did well. So glad to have him…again.
Skipp - 6.5. Ran around a lot. One lovely pass. He just seems off the pace though.
Emerson Royal - 7.5. We looked so much better when he came on, largely because we effectively went to five at the back.
Davies - 7.5. Did what he’s supposed to.
Veliz. 7. He seems far closer than I ever would have expected. Wish he was on the pitch while we had 11 tbh.

So made up about this result. Postponed the “Spursy” bullshit for another couple of weeks, won a game we should have won then should have lost, made for a happy weekend, found yet another way to get a result. Magic. These games happen - if you win them then you’re doing something right. Thought Ange waited a little too long to make the changes at the back (too long for my heart anyway) but he made the right changes and it’s not his fault we didn’t have the game won after 15 minutes.

Also if somebody hasn’t done so already can we please get a check on how many yellow cards for simulation there have been this season. Because if’s certainly not enough, and although it was absolutely the right decision it’s hard not to feel a little frustrated.

VDV was superb defensively, brought the ball really well and scored the winner. What an excellent buy he’s Romero was imperious at the back, he’s like player reborn.

Sarr was everywhere, such an engine he has.

Ultimately I gave it to Kulusevski who just ran is socks off in that second half especially when Son and Maddison went off. I’ve been critical of him before for slowing down play and always coming inside to use his left foot but today he really put a shift in for the team.

Several candidates but even for VDV(8)
Cuti (8.5) is the go-to -man for distrubution.

Coped well with the missing man situation
but Luton not good enough to exploit it.
Should have been 3 up by the tenth minute
Richarlison (5) pretty poor for a Brazilian International
Vicario (7.5) made the necessary saves and his distribution was safe and precise
Son (6.5) not really at it..
But Kulu(7.5) turned up as did Maddison (8)
Porro (7,5) had a good game and Sarr(7) but expect more from him.
Against a better team we might have lost that.
What was Bissouma thinking. Correct He wasn't

Sarr a C? Were you watching a different game? He was fantastic today, especially in the second half, would not stop running and winning balls and race into the Luton half.

If we lost it’s definitely replay material
