Can't wait BC's comment on Dawson.
I will agree with him wholeheartedly even though I don't know what he will say now

I'll give it a go...

Lloris - 7 little chance on the goal

Naughton - 6 so weak, but seems a nice fellow

Rose - 5 no discipline at all

Dawson - 6 lovely air-header late in the second half was vintage Dawson

Verts - 6 looked like Dawson's twin

Capoue - 7 covered a lot of ground in 13 minutes, not enough time to screw something up

Bentalab - 7 did what he does which doesnt really help us

Paulinho - 6 oblivious to what was going on behind him on their goal

Lennon - 6 I think he may have reached the end of his shelf life

Dembele - 7 worked hard

Adebayor - 6 worked hard and completed little

Chadli - 6.5 often missing

Soldado - 6 two chances wasted

Townshend - 7 no shots, which is a good thing

I thought the central 3 worked hard enough but with little incisiveness. Paulinho is clearly the most creative of the three, but refuses to take the responsibility for that role. Dembele cant do, as the last 2 seasons have shown. We need more Ericksen and should have never loaned Holtby.

Lloris was very good.

Dawson, Naughton, Rose and Sherwood need taking to the pound.

Yeah that was unpleasant viewing, virtually no positives from start to finish.

Mitigations...

1) Europa League. It does make a difference, with only 2 days recovery you are always at a disadvantage.
2) Losing Capoue early doors (maybe because of lack of recovery time) necessitated a reshuffle.

But regardless of those reasons, that was just abject ineptitude.

Once again we started poorly, we were lethargic, unresponsive and clearly not psychologically prepared to play a game of football. This is the responsibility of the coaching team, nothing frustrates me more seeing coaches wonder why their teams start badly, when it's their fucking job to prepare them in the first place.

Tactically god only knows what was going on, and Norwich knew that if they stopped us playing through Adebayor they'd pretty much nullified us. They surrounded him, blocked the pass into him and we were totally stunted. There was no discernible pattern of play, our off the ball work was bad and when we did try to press we did it badly that they just passed their way out of it with ease. We couldn't even keep the ball - give me the slow, patient, sterile domination of not so long ago over that every day, any day.

We are unfortunately looking for all the world a team now more reliant on individual inspiration than a team that is coached to multiply their individual abilities, and nullify their weaknesses.

Sherwood still needs time, and opinions should be fully formed when he's had longer to get the team singing to his tune, if indeed he has one, but I must admit now to losing that faith very quickly. We had been picking up results under him yes, but nothing in football is more alluring than the final result, when the process of getting those results should be under more scrutiny - and there are worrying signs here for me.

'Getting more men into the box' is no longer going to be the saving grace of Sherwood, anyone can say 'yeah you lot all get forward', a coach though sets up his team to get men into the box without compromising everything else.

No ratings, too depressing.

That performance numbed the senses.

I can accept players that lack intelligence and ability and will whole heartedly support them in a Spurs shirt when they give 100%. However, some of the performances put in today were enough to test my patience to breaking point.

Lloris - 7 - winner of the least shit award for the game.

Naughton -4 - isn't tenacious enough to be a top level full back. Nearly fell off my bar stool when I saw him lining up to take our corners.

Rose - 3 - guilty of unparalleled laziness. Ambles back into position after an attack. Rarely delivers a decent ball or makes a right decision. Can't believe we have no other viable option for LB.

Dawson -4 - terrible game. Skanked numerous times.

Vertonghen - 5 - had one of his mardy days.

Capoue - 4 - injured.

Paulinho - 3 - the ghost of Carrow Road. Watch him strolling around for their goal.

Dembele - 6 - worked hard but boy could he do with a brain implant. Plays with his eyes on the ground.

Lennon/Chadli - 5 - nothing.

Adebayor - 5 - He can't win us games every week. Was due a bad game. Had his lead boots on today.

Bentalb - 5 - looked drained. Like the kid but I don't see what he does that Eriksen couldn't be doing. Is not a holding midfielder.

Sherwood - 1 - where the fuck is Eriksen? To not pick one of our rare players capable of using a bit of craft and wit, is scandalous.

This season has been really, really hard work. Looking forward to next season without Lloris and Vertonghen....

Not sure if it was Paulinho or Pauline Calf wearing the number 8 shirt today... His passport my say he's Brazilian but there's F**k all else that associates him to being a Brazilian....

Anyone giving Daws 2 or 3 (and more) points less than Verts:

a. Didn't watch the game.
b. Have an anti-Daws agenda.
c. Both.

I hear that in the downstairs area he's like a Ken doll, so there's another association...

I actually thought Hugo's distribution was piss poor however apart from that he was good.

Lennon did alright.

Don't know why we were playing hoof ball. All we did was punt it long. Which is fine as it can be effective but we didn't even play it well.
