Looking pleasing on the eyes again,
plus Son looking back on form,
plus a rebranded Dele (love the locks)
plus a Gareth Bale hattrick
What is not to like? (A rhetorical question, you dont need to answer!)

What this game tells me that it was poor game management and tactics that spoiled our season, not the players. Give our best 14 or so players the license and encouragement to play with intuition to their strengths in their proper position and they are up there with the best the PL has to offer. This cry for wholesale cull and changes to the playing staff is nonsense in my opinion. Not saying that some changes and upgrades are not required.

Had to give Gareth Bale MOTM for his (and our) first hattrick for ages but credit to Aurier as well

Obviously, Bale is the main candidate due to the hat-trick.

However, speaking as someone who struggles to get through to lunchtime even after a decent breakfast, I’d just like to give props to Serge for putting in such a quality performance despite fasting all day. Aurier my MOTM.

Much like last time against Sheffield United, it's a nice result but nothing to base any long-term assumptions of players (or this team as a whole) around. They're a Championship side with several players missing.

Bale MOTM obviously, all played pretty well. A special mention for Aurier too.

Incredible win and performance compared to what was dished up past 18 months by you know who.

I think what it shows is maybe CB positions aren't as important as upgrading the CM positions. Winks and Sissoko will still need urgent upgrading.

I know it was only Sheff U, but FFS, a semi capable manager would have us 15 points better off. Just annoying

Bale, Son, Serge - lots of good performances today

I hadn't realised how much I'd stopped enjoying watching football. What a tonic that was. Great fun.

Serge my Motm, creativity and hard work. Top performance.

Bale, he made those.finishes look so easy and relaxed. Class. What could have been....

Whataboutery I know but so annoying that Levy wasn't ruthless enough when the wheels were clearly falling off under Jose in January.

This squad could have strolled to top 4 and we might even have sorted Nagelsmann before the Bayern drama.

As it is, still think top 4 is too far now but top 6 should be a realistic target, which all things considered wouldn't be a disaster.

Bale 9 (Second finish was like an Exocet missile)
Aurier 9 (Where the fuck did that opening assists come from? Brilliant!)
Son 8 (For “two” great finishes)
Everyone else 7

Bale - easy choice

But not a bad performance out there. Dele played hard. Hojbjerg had his best game in a while. Aurier big performance, but even Reguilon was more composed than recent performances.

Lo Celso - starting to show some of last year's form.

Dier/Toby - not much to do, but they kept things well organized.

No weak links tonight.
Bale motm, Aurier excellent, Regi very good as well. I thought Lo Celso demonstrated well the Winks role.

Big up to the whole team except for winks!
I categorically did not see the need for him to come on, but I thought he was okay. One crap mistake but played a couple of nice forward passes. What does worry me is he seems to receive the ball facing our defence more so than the forwards. When he first broke into the team, he was much more aggressive in his running and passing.

Reminds me of a crab. Just sideways I think he played one forward pass and that was right at the end. Made some extremely sloppy passes as well. He’s not good enough and needs to go.
