Not having Rose has really affected us in more ways than one. We are 3rd back to where we finished last season but we made hard work of it. Hope we get back our last season form and press ahead.

Although in the 15 mins or so Lamela was on made him contender Son, my MOTM. Ratings later

MOTM - Son

Poor - Rest

Deplorable - Poch

Sunderland are a shit team. We could beat them with our second unit with youth speckled in. I am positive of that.

Now we have risked a team full of first teamers and have what might be three injured starters.

We won 3-points but LOST soooo much more.

This is the first time I have thrown Poch under the bus, but that was absolutely pathetic and that all falls on the manager.

Son was qulity today, deserved a goal and Lamela has to start number 10. Sissoko not cutting in allows more space in the middle and does raise the question of can Eriksen and Lamela play in the same team. I really want to see more from Alli and Janssen was horrible today. Hope this isn't the first sign of lost confidence.

Loosing Kane, Dier and Dembele could destroy us. But this time we actually have the team to cover for them so i am not as depressed as I could be.

The only injury you can attribute blame to Pochettino for is Dier's. He should've been rested. There was nothing wrong with Dembele playing given he only played 45 minutes against Monaco, and he needs to get properly match-fit. Kane's injury came as a direct result of his high work-rate (suggesting he wasn't tired), and it was unrelated to fatigue.

As for you thinking we could win with a 2nd team with youth players. We just won 1-0 with the majority of our first team. Don't be ridiculous.

Son MOTM for me, probably should have scored a goal and an assist on another day. Sissoko was full of running. Walker played well but struggled in the last 15 a bit, not sure if he had a little niggle there. Not the best performance but a clean sheet. I think Dembele and Kane will be out for a few weeks

Lighten up. Absolutely dominated the game from start to finish. We were very good but just needed to be more clinical.

Son was decent and Sissoko played well on his home league debut. Something isn't quite ticking yet- I don't understand why we don't flood the box like we seemed to last season. Too often when avenues are blocked, we move backwards. Movement needs to be better in the final third. Janssen is playing like he's stolen Kane's monkey from his back- I know he hasn't had much game time but he really should have passed to Lamela. Against a better team and that kind of mistake would cost more. I'm sure he'll come good, though

We utterly battered them and were pretty much in control from start to finish - their keeper played an absolute blinder with great saves stopping at least 2/3 certain goals. On another day we would have got 3/4 easily. Good performance generally, bad luck with the injuries and lets hope they are not serious. Very good start to the season in terms of points on the board.

Thanks for responding verse just blanket dislikes.

I swear opinions on here are either with the majority or not, but either way I am not overreacting.

We should dominate a side like that. Not one player on their team would get into our squad.

I am 100% confident that our complete second unit could have beat that team, so I see no need to risk starters even with The cup game this week.

Edit:

Just a general question for the boards.

Is there reason to worry? A blinder by a keeper sure, but do people actually think we played well today?

I actually thought we played well despite not having Lamela and Eriksen. Sunderland came to sit back and not play really.

First half we had chances. We not playing FiFA that we going to go one and one all the time. First half keeper made 3 good saves.

Which of our 'second unit' would have the ability to create something vs a team in total defence mode from minute one? I cant think of too many.

Have you seen the stats?

How can you say we didn't dominate?

Seriously fella. Not every chance will go in.

Erm. We did dominate that side? So probably the reason for all the negative ratings is your total misunderstanding of the game. The only thing lacking was goals. And they had their keeper to thank for that.
