Lo Celso for me, was bossing the midfield.

Ange was probably worried about him getting injured with the late sub.

Thought Deki was superb today. Worked his bollocks off. Porro and Lo Celso not far behind. Another game lost that we probably didn’t deserve to. Wolves aside, it’s hard to feel anything but positive about the type of football we’re playing. So unlucky with injuries. And then Romero’s stupidity of course.

Subs didn't add much, other than that strating trio up front weren't clinical enough. Other than those good display

Such a shame Bentancur had to go off as the Gio/Kulu combo was looking great.

Vicario got lucky but deserves a bit of luck, another good performance

Porro and Udogie these guys just ran all day and contributed plenty. Emerson I thought was good and really stepped up. Davies not a centre back and it shows.

Bent was looking good, Gio showed us what a player he can be for us and did so much good stuff, Kulu looked good in mid and ran tirelessly.

Gil had some moments and front three while causing problems for Villa needed that bit of quality, you can’t batter a team like that and not take chances.

PEH did some good things but he is a bit of a fish out of water in this style. Skipp ran a lot, didn’t understand why Donley didn’t come on for Gio.

Ange not getting a break with injuries and bench threadbare and too many players like Gil and Gio haven’t had enough game time and ran out of steam.

I don’t think anyone was terrible, if we had managed to stay inside a been a bit more clinical then we would have won that easy. A very frustrating game. Lo Celso had a very good game.

7 - Deki, Gil, GLC, Udogie, Bentancur
6 - Vic, Porro
5.5 - Davies, Emerson.
5 - PEH, Johnson, Skipp, Son

We don’t have the players right now to play like this and the squad is paper thin.

Disappointing result but it clear we have something special in Ange Postecoglou. The attitude of the players is 1st class. Even in defeat I can still remain positive for the future of this team!!

Can't fault effort anywhere. Players might not be good enough in certain areas but they aren't hiding. They are at least having a go. Once we learn the offside rule things might not look so glum.

If you'd told.me at the start of the season the CB pairing would be Davies and Royal I'd have laughed.... Oh.... But they actually did really well.

Spurs are like a pair of gola football boots for those of use brought up in the late 70's early 80's. They still do a job, even when there's holes in them and You ain't getting a new pair until I see your toes... Well,.levy, I can see my toes....!

I think that performance was very good all things considered.

Can't think of many games we've played better than that in where we've lost. Don't think anyone was particularly bad but we've come away with nothing.

Bentancur was the best player on the pitch before he went off. What a fucking player he is.

Kulusevski very involved and worked his arse off but some really poor end product sadly.

And Lo Celso's best game for us in years. He won't start for us when everyone is fit but that doesn't look like happening any time soon so need him to build on this.

Lo Celso MoM for me

9 Lo Celso - Outstanding
8 Bentancur, Porro, Udogie, Deki V good
7 Gill, Johnson, Son, Vicario, Royal, PEH good
6 Davies, Skipp (possibly at fault with goals)

Good performance overall. Undone by centre back pairing playing together for first time

Incredibly harsh on Porro. Would put Bentancur and Gio a bit higher too

We have a talented and exciting team that can compete with anyone on their day. We also have some of the best players in the world, such as Son Heung-min, and Cristian Romero. We also have a new manager in Ange Postecoglou, who has a positive and attacking philosophy. to play beautifulSpurs have the potential and effective football that can thrill the fans and win matches and eventually a trophy-laden future!

Lo Celso, but would probably have been Bentancur if he’d stayed on the pitch longer (and we’d probably have won if he’d stayed on the pitch longer).

Harsh on Skipp, but presumably distracting from the bench?

i'm not one for complaints about opposition behaviour, but really there's a limit and intentionally maiming our most effective players(Doherty, Bents)
by Cash is one of the most disgusting things I've seen.

He simply set out to violently put Doherty and Bents out of the games...Doherty was for remains of that season, Bents (9 MoM) hopefully less . Repulsive behaviour. Of course the animal got pulled at HT.

Good and bad , Great to have Udogie (8) back, Porro (7) has a pass on him. Kulu (7) battled. Bryan tried(6) but panics in attacking situations. Lo Celso (8)
playing well strange he was hooked.

I know the cliche is that YT skills vids don't mean much( re Johnson(5)....but still in the case of an attacker they should have some bearing and I'm on record as saying he didn't impress in them. A speedy midtable player..but 47 mill ? . Our attacking probs continue imo.

Googs 7 (could he of done better for Watkins goal?)

Porro 8 - played some fantastic passes
Royal 7 - coped admirably in an unfamiliar role
Davies 7
Udogie 8 - monster, not even at his best

Bentancur 8 - ran the game until he was taken out
GLC 8 - ran out of steam
Deki 8 - should’ve scored, but a constant threat

Johnson 6 - some odd decision making and crap final ball
Son 6 - millimetres from a getting a couple of goals (either offside or that header)
Gil 5 - worked hard, but ultimately wasteful and feeble

Subs
Hojberg 3
Skipp 4
Veliz 5

First half was as good as we have played this season, should’ve been home and dry. Nasty piece of work Matty Trash takes out Bentancur and changes the game because Højberg was absolutely dreadful

GLC MOM for me. Difficult to think of many games for us where he was consistently that good throughout. Ran out of steam but that's understandable for someone with such a stop-start season.

Find it hard to criticise the team at all despite both goals being very preventable. We're patched up and in transition from the deepest, dullest side to the highest, most expansive and expressive while playing four full-backs in what is only nominally a 'defence'. Our attack contained in Gil and GLC players that have barely played, Deki playing in an unfamiliar position and a guy only a few games back from a serious injury (and sadly now with what might be another).

We're going to be fine.
