Still not convincing as with the greatest of respect, it was only West Brom.

Saying that Lamela did make a difference to our performance playing alongside Ndombele and Kane where the game should have been at least 4 goals by half time.

Still 3 points is 3 points

May have “only been West Brom” but that desire and commitment has been lacking for a while no matter who we’re playing, could’ve been 4/5 on another day, much better performence.
Hojbjerg or lamela MOTM for me

I'll give Hugo a shout too. Not MOTM for me (I picked Hojbjerg), but he did well to keep that header from going over the line at the end of the first half. Game could have gone differently had that gone in.

I've gone with the team, but it could've just as well been Lamela as the catalyst.

Even though it was only West Brom, I think we've said that against plenty of other teams this season and not come out of it well.

The interesting part for me here, is that it was a battle between a team with no will or belief in winning against a team full of both. And I think it's safe to say we've got used to being on the other side of that match.

Very positive stuff, plenty to build on. Not perfect by any means, but the determination shown by the players today, I think, is what we've all been thirsting for.

Lamela 10 - hope to see the same lamela in the next game too. Finally someone reliable to complement Ndombelee in the attacking third.
Lloris 10 - Purely from a goalkeeping perspective
Lucas 9 - Finally looked like a Brazilian

The rest 8.

Lamela MotM. Added intent to our team, kept showing for the ball and constantly trying to put us on the front foot.

Mourinho 6 - finally let's the team play, 5 defensive players, 5 attacking players, and even Sanchez looks good on the ball again. People can say it's only WBA but we got schooled by Brighton. I just hope Mourinho keeps 5 attacking players when Reggie is fit. The 6 is because he actually did his job.

Good save, but it would have been ruled out for offside.

I thought Lucas had a good game through the middle. Him and Lamela brought some energy to the team backing up their good cameos in the last game.

I think they said at halftime it would have been offside but in any case I agree Hugo did well today.
I went for team effort as was hard to pick one player. Everyone put in a shift.

Lamela (MotM), Lucas, Aurier, Hojbjerg, Lloris solid. Kane and Son scored but they are still far from their best. Ndombele was sloppy, but still almost had an assist.

Lucas for me. Fought tooth and nail and tried to get things happening. Brilliant run and pass for the second goal.

Lamela and Lucas played well and helped maintain the momentum and pressure on West Brom but they do need to add goals to their game

Lamela for me, his energy and commitment turns us from a passive team to an aggressive team .
He's got ability too, but with his unfortunate injury problems he never gets the run of games to carve out a position for himself.

Lamela lively performance gets it for me. Thought Aurier had a good game, especially in the first half. Credit to PEH for the pass that opened them up for Kane’s goal,

Good win and on another day kane has a bag full and Son looked alive again after taking the last couple of games off.

Good enough against that lot, Lamela was uplifting but PEH produced an incisive pass to break the deadlock as well as his usual solid game. So Pierre it is.

Big week ahead.

Oh and one world for Attwell- useless. If Son goes against Rudiger, on what planet does Snodgrass get away with that?

PEH (motm) was brilliant as always. What a player. Coco I think does more than just piss off the opposition. I think he linked the team very well today. Lucas fantastic for the second goal. Son clinical and better in general attacking play. Tanguy deeper with 4 ahead of him meant he had more options to advance the ball and find attackers in the final third. Hugo made one important save. Aurier was really good when he was on. Davies solid. Toby too. Sanchez has the fan base divided today, I thought he was great and intelligent. With Kane we score goals, without him we don’t. WBA are terrible but we made sure that they were today, and kept the ball well even against their higher press when they came out. I’d like to see some selection consistency now in defence. Need to build a partnership for the rest of the season.
