That foul by Dier at the end of extra extra time to finish the game epitomises what Jose was going on about with attitude. In the summer he needs to go and So does Sissoko winks and Davies.

Apologies if similar is already posted trying not to relive that?

Zagreb were excellent, 2-0 they could’ve easily sat back and try to counter but they didn’t, they played us off the park in all seriousness, the scary thing is we were lucky to go to extra time, they defended well, in the 90 mins I can’t remember us having a real decent chance where I’d say we should’ve scored.

As much as I’m pissed off, hats off to them
I don’t think any team that has done their homework will sit back against us, they know that if you press Spurs we will crumble and our defence are a bunch of clowns who at least got a mistake or two more in them.

Levy is a big part of our current problem
Winks could have gone to Valencia
Ali could have fucked off to PSG

But no, undermine Mourinho instead, keep them, thrash the whole team spirit.

I now feel Mourinho has lost the dressing room... but that's not hard, with the back bone of players we have pinching a living at this club. The same attitude we all saw during the latter stages of Pochittinho. The players believing they are better than what they're thrown their toys out the window and downed tools.

Exactly. I always felt that the beginning of the decline under Poch began when the team started believing their own hype and stopped doing what made them good in the first place - togetherness, hard work, pressing and intensity. It was almost as if the team thought they could coast through matches on talent alone. Whereas our strength was in outworking teams.

It seems that this mentality still persists. There is a huge lack of humility. This was evident last night and even during the NLD. As Hugo says, we just lack the fundamentals, that all good teams are built on.

As I’ve said elsewhere it’s pointless Jose being sacked now but long-term he’s not the man to bring those fundamentals back into the team. I feel, due to the standard of teams he’s managed in his career, that he thinks top players should already have those fundamentals - and he’s probably at a loss at why ours don’t have self-motivation. Which probably points to a generational difference.

In the summer we’ll need to go back to basics and bring in a ‘coach’ who will hand hold players through all parts of the match rather than a ‘manager’ in Jose, who expects players to take more responsibility. It’s just where we’re at as a club.
