I'm a huge Kane fan and like everyone else I'm incredibly excited by his development, but I hate these 'could be the next shearer' style articles that get written about young players. Let's just let the player develop without attaching a weight of expectation to him and enjoy the ride.

The final question always irks me....I bet it's Do you think Kane's the next Shearer?' or something stupid like that.

Kane will never be as prolific as Shearer but has some things in common. Time will tell but if Kane turns out to be half as good as Shearer will will have a true great at the Club.
