Laying means betting against something to happen/win. So to lay Harry to go at say 2/1 you would be betting that he doesnt get sacked. If he did you would basically play the role of the bookie paying out on the 2 and not the 1, where if you won you would always just get your original stake. So if you put £100 on at 2/1 you would get £100 if he didnt get sacked but lose £200 if he did.
