I was full of confidence for our away trip to West Ham on Sunday, on the back of two good wins and the fact we did the double over them last year, then I saw who was refereeing it. Clattenberg seems to have a distinct dislike of Tottenham and I already know every decision on Sunday is going to go against us, so we are going to be playing against twelve men.

He's coming back from an eight month ban and they seem to have stuck him straight back in at the deep end, shouldn't he have spent a few months in the lower leagues to get a bit of practice in before being unleashed on the Premier League.

This is a man who had some very suspect financial dealings and who wrote death threats to people who owed him money and their families, how is this man fit to be a Premier League referee?

Don't worry about it. He will send Noble off then give us a pen, which JD will slam home.

We will then score twice more, Defoe and Modric the scorers.

West Ham 0 - 3 Tottenham Hotspur

If he values being a PL Ref and he's just returned from an 8 month ban then he's going to have to have a good game with no major mistakes or controversies or he may well find mimself being demoted to League 2. The FA assessor at the game will be watching him closely.

Clattenburg is a grade A shitbiscuit, I will never forget him missing Pedro's goal.

He deserves to be bumraped by Christopher Biggins.

This is from Wiki:

Clattenburg was appointed to take charge of The FA Community Shield on 9 August 2008, with Dave Richardson and Ian Gosling assisting and Andre Marriner acting as fourth official.[19] However, Clattenburg was suspended from refereeing, pending an investigation into alleged debts incurred by companies to which he is connected.[20] The match between 2008 FA Cup winners Portsmouth and 2007/08 Premier League champions Manchester United took place at Wembley Stadium with Peter Walton as the replacement referee.[21]

Following the investigation into his personal life and business debts, the referees' governing body dismissed Clattenburg, citing a breach of contract. He denied all the allegations and appealed the decision.[22]

He appealed the decision, on 18 February 2009 Professional Game Match Officials Limited stated that Clattenburg would be reinstated as a "Select Group" referee. However, he had to serve an eight-month suspension, starting from his original suspension date of 6 August 2008.

Clattenburg returned from suspension and was appointed to officiate Manchester City vs Bolton Wanderers on the last day of the Premier League season.

thats not the point. we WILL score by playing football. The worry is that the ref gives a pen against us, sends someone off, or gives an offside goal when it is not justified.

Our defence is solid enough to keep a clean sheet and our attack is good enough to score a goal even if we get several penalty appeals denied. I just hope that a really dodgy decision like the one at Old Trafford last season doesnt occur

It wasn't the decision at old trafford last season that was clattenburgs worst, his lack of decision there in 2005 was 10 times as dodgy.

Twattenberg will be after Palacios! This ref is a clown should never be in control of PL games.

the OT decision wasnt him but i just meant those decisions that change games when they should never have been given

IMO we lost 6 points last season to ridiculous decisions - Gomez/Carrick at Old Trafford and Palacios sending off vs Blackburn.

It's not that we need to rely on the ref to win (we clearly don't and will start favourites I would think) it's that we reply on the ref not to severely compromise us
