Am I the only one that also rates Boyd and Heaton from Burnley?

Yea but ITK's are bollocks.

That's a pretty sweeping statement. A lot of people who claim to be in the know are just on a wind up, but then you also have people like JJ who give out good info well ahead of it hitting the press. This site does a pretty good job of filtering out the windups.

Seeing Dawson at the end of Hull Man Utd makes me want him back. He'd come back in a heartbeat and give 110% every time he got on the pitch. Miss his attitude.
Agree, we sold Dawson and bought Fazio. Wow, some improvement that turned out to be.

No. Boyd is an absolute workhorse (and I mean that as a compliment) and Heaton is an underrated GK.

Whether they are good enough for Spurs isn't really the issue; whether we need them is. Lloris is better than Heaton and Vorm is a good backup who seems happy to sit on the subs bench.

There were many times this season when we could have done with a Boyd working his socks off and actually appearing to give a shit. There will be those times next season as well but if we were to buy Boyd we would be blocking the progress of one of our youngsters with a higher potential.

I hope both are playing in the PL next season though as they both deserve to be.

The problem is that Vorm doesn't actually seem happy to sit on the bench (according to recent reports). I'd rather have a solid HG goalkeeper in Heaton, as it makes our squad a little more flexible with our outfield players (in terms of HG/non-hg).

I reckon boyd could actually make a difference to the crumbly left wing/AM position we've had since Bale left. Siggy was invisible there, Eriksen leaves it exposed, Townsend doesn't suit it, Lamela is wasted there, Chadli doesn't suit it (seems more of a second striker).

You know more than I do as to whether Vorm is happy to sit on our bench but if he isn't he really should have signed for a different club because while Lloris is still here it's going to be a steady diet of Europa League and Carling Cup matches for him and the occasional PL game when Lloris is out injured. The same would apply to Heaton if he came and I think Heaton is good enough to be a PL GK in his own right, so much as I rate him it would be a shame to see his career stagnate, even at Spurs.

I like Boyd a lot as well but if he signed for us could anyone blame Pritchard if he went straight into Shinehead's office and demanded a move to somewhere like Villa? And Pritchard is not the only promising prospect we have in Boyd's position. If you are going to sign players who are going to block the opportunities for promising young players looking to break into the first team then you need to have a major upgrade such as Depay or at least an established international like Konoplyanka. Otherwise it must look like the club just doesn't rate you and you'd be better off plying your trade elsewhere.

So I agree with you that both Heaton and Boyd are good players, and also that they would improve our squad. Long term though I don't think that us signing them would be a good move for either us or them.

Dawson and Caulker are probably a bit below the standard, but Lord could we use Daws' leadership (especially if Hugo leaves) and I really do think there's still a good player there with the latter. Two consecutive relegations isn't great though.
