From looking at pictures of Vincent Tan he strongly reminds me of Leslie Chow from the Hangover series..

I'd be interested to know if Mackay and his DOF really did overspend their budget by several million. If I did that at work I would be sacked as well.

I've never understood how a manager can over spend. People say 'Arry's spending ruined Portsmouth and O'Leary's spending ruined Leeds but surely the buck stops with the chairman and the board of directors? Surely it's up to the chairman, owner, etc., to say 'hang on, we can't afford that'? It's not as if the manager is given the club's bank account details.

Harry can barely right his signature let alone write down details of pompey's back account

I really hope that he ends up selling up, just so he can leave the press conference like this

This will go down not as a man dismantling a football club which had just managed to secure top flight football for the first time since forever, this will go down in history as a prime example of how the people with the most money are, often, clueless idiots who didn't earn a single penny of the fortune they reside over.

This clueless dick-stem can't even work a suit jacket and t-shirt properly, for crying out loud. It shows that he has to be dressed in the morning by someone else - how can someone who can't even do that earn a mint by doing nothing as i sit here penniless? WHY, LORD, WHY? :banghead:

Clueless in the world of the Premier League and probably Western business. But this guy is a big deal in Malaysia, a very big deal. I daresay he had good business acumen early on, but the level of corruption and back-patting that goes on in that Country, I'm sure his dollar has simply allowed him to do what he wants, when he wants.

Thank God our club is run far more professionally.

I could imagine Misfit saying that to the press outside WHL, when suddenly a little bolt or nail pings out of place, causing the entire stadium to collapse

Malky Mackay: Cardiff boss is spared sack for now

By Rob Phillips and David OrnsteinBBC Sport
Cardiff owner Vincent Tan has lifted his threat to sack manager Malky Mackay and the pair will hold talks in an attempt to salvage their relationship.

Tan sent Mackay an email last Monday telling him to resign or be sacked.

But with the 41-year-old Scot refusing to walk away voluntarily, Tan is now prepared for a possible reconciliation.

“I have spoken to Vincent Tan and he has agreed I can go into bat to try to bring a solution to this situation”

Cardiff chairman Mehmet Dalman
When asked if the ultimatum had been withdrawn, Cardiff chairman Mehmet Dalman said: "For the time being, yes. The crisis for the time being is over."

He added: that Mackay was is "in charge for the foreseeable future and will be until something else happens".

Tan flew from Malaysia to London on Friday with the intention of dismissing Mackay, but he agreed to a final meeting with Dalman to discuss the situation.

That meeting went on into the early hours of Saturday.

Tan was still undecided about Mackay's future following the 3-1 defeat at Liverpool, during which the Cardiff fans expressed support for Mackay and disapproval of Tan.

The 61-year-old businessman has now chosen to delay any judgment until further negotiations have taken place.

"My definition of diplomacy is to create space for dialogue," said Dalman.

"I have spoken to Vincent Tan and he has agreed I can go into bat to try to bring a solution to this situation.

"The important thing is that we try to find a way through this predicament."

More to follow.

Spare a thought for the Chairman, trying to mediate between Mackay and a madman. Can't be an easy job.

Now I'm waiting for a "Vincent Tan sacks chairman" headline to crop up! :p

In Asia its all about the family business. I am sure he wants his son to be the manager

Well done to Dalman for saving the manager for now but Mackay is a dead man walking.

This is unfair for Mackay now really. I'm sure he just wants to get on with his career. This job is poison for him now - every decision will be questioned. Tan has enough money to pay him up, so why not just put his money where his mouth is?

For as much of a clusterfuck our club is, Cardiff is worse. Mackay deserves the job and should stay. Tan is an embarrasing owner. This is beyond absurd.
