I don't see Levy as the type to go "We're interested in this player please don't gazzump us". Most likely something with the Pereira deal, whether it be Poch, the cost, 3rd party ownership, player attitude, salary, agent fees, whatever just made us dump this lump. Which is a shame because I think he's the closest to the Poch mold and a good bridge between Trippier and KWP. Cancelo has some great attributes but he wants to be an attacker, not a defender, and will need Poch time to learn.

Do you have a link to support this? I have only seen his agent as Fairplay sports, which to my knowledge is not Mendes' agency.

We're running out of options particularly if Cancelo is off. We can't afford to wait around as much as we can with other positions. We should really be looking to seal Toljan by next week if we think he's good enough.
Decisions, not really our style on the buying front.

Heinrichs is the other name in the frame as far as the media go. Also very athletic and versatile.

I think the issue is there is not/was not a release clause - or it's not as cheap as we all think.
What it likely was is an optional purchase clause for Nice to purchase Pereira for 22m at the end of his loan which was not excercised and everyone is believing this is a release clause.

Not sure we fucked it up tbh pal. I've seen it reported in a few places that it was Poch who pulled us out as he felt Pereira wasn't worth the full 22m, or he just didn't fancy him at all.
