Agree with all the comments above, but I do carry one reservation. He's a player in the mould of Dawson and Woodgate in that he's more of a blood and guts defender. There's nothing wrong with this type of player but I think the best partnerships are formed between one blood and guts centre back and one with great recovery pace, i.e. Vidic and Rio, King and Woodgate.

Dunne would be a great upgrade on Dawson should he leave, but if you're looking at a threesome of Woodgate, Dunne and Dawson they're all a bit too similar for me.

Woodgate, Dunne, King, Dervitte and maybe one more pacy centre back. That would be quality.

I know I'm probably in a minority here but I think he's one of the most over rated players in the premiership. The last thing we need is another slow CB, no-matter how good his leadership qualities might be.

B-C, I'd say underrated rather than overrated. No, he's not quick in the King/Gardner sense, but quicker than Dawson and Woody, and possibly as quick as Kaboul. What I do know is that my brother-in-law, who's a City ST holder, raves about him and is really worried that he'll fuck off because of the nonsense that's been going on recently; Distin was better on the ball, a classier player, but Dunne has been City's rock for several seasons. Defence was about the only thing that Pearce got right.

I think City's pathetic capitulation on Sunday after he was harshly sent off speaks volumes.

An amazing player, the type of man to play on no matter what! His ego isn't big either, can't believe City wont pay him the same as Richards!

Get him now, don't sit around. I've seen him
play for Ireland mnay times and he gets a lot of MotM awards!

IMO Dunne is one of the best CB's in the Prem, so yes please!! Even if we have to pay something! And he definitely isn't as slow as B-C claimed!

To be honest I cannot comment on how good or bad RD is as I have never taken any interest in him as he has not caught my eye.

The only thing I remember about him and at the time thought "What a mug" was either earlier this season or late last season, Berbatov did him causing him to fall on his backside before Berbs scored.
