Would be happy with this, but very much doubt it will happen as I just can't see Liverpool loaning him to us. I also think Levy will want us to shift at least one of Ade or Soldado before he sanctions a move for a striker.

I think he could do a job for us in the cups and when Kane needs a rest. He knows Poch's system and I think his failure in Liverpool is mostly because Rodgers doesn't know what to do with him. Not a flashy signing but since Adebayor looks like he'll never see the pitch again we could use the depth. Lambert pulling centerbacks away from the middle so Chadli can make those central runs could be a nice weapon for us.

When I read things like Ricky Lambert coming to us it just makes me think well there is still a chance for me and anyone else who can kick a ball really.

I know why, with three matches that can end in penalties in the next few weeks.... who better to sign than a man who has never missed?

Can't see an issue personally, if it's only a loan to cover if Ade or Soldado are sold. Seems they don't fit Poch's system, and Lambert we all know has delivered for Poch before. Often said there's no value in January purchases. So a short term fix with a known quantity carries no risk. Buys Mitchell and Poch time to make the right signing come the summer.

If we could shift Ade, I would take Lambert on loan at the drop of a hat. In fact I would take him on a 1 year rolling deal if we could.

He fits into Pochettino's system, is an excellent penalty taker, can hold the ball up and score goals. Yes he isn't a world beater but he has a general acceptance that he won't be first choice but will give 100% any time you bring him on.

I think lambert would be a decent option until the end of the season and would probably pop up with half a dozen goals. However there is no way on earth Liverpool will loan him to us, not a chance. Imagine lambert scoring the goals to get us in the CL. Meaning Liverpool just miss out!
