I have a feeling that unless Davies gets more game time he will seek a transfer in the summer
Normally I'd agree with you but there's a different dynamic and culture at Tottenham these days. He's young, getting quite a few games, stays in the matchday squad, and it has no detrimental effect on his selection for Wales. I think there's a fair chance he'll want to stay.

Davies has played more minutes for us this year than Rose has.

998 > 981

It's been a tight competition at times and I don't think Davies will be jumping ship, especially as that would likely mean moving to a lesser team.

And Davies is only 22.

Scouts attending games does not usually equate to anything more than covering bases. Although agents wouldn't be doing their jobs if they didn't make the absolute most of it to journalists.
Davies wont be around forever. I fully expect him to want a move away in the summer if he is still second choice by then.

Seems like we are definitely in with a shout to sign this guy

Don't think Davies will leave anytime soon. Henry will probably be loaned out for 1.5 seasons imo

So we've got one bit of ITK (from the Walsall end) saying he's more or less signed. Thoughts on this potential signing- @IGSpur ?

Heard anything @Trix ?

Interesting. I'm less opposed to him signing than when we were linked to Alli when comparing the similar reasons. Realistically Brown at 16 is 2/3 seasons away from being genuinely considered for the first team, and so Henry I don't think could really affect him as in that time anyone of him Rose or Davies could be gone.

He only really affects Ogilvie. I personally really rate Ogivlie and still think he could make it. I don't think Henry would spell the end of Ogilvie's chances here but they are different players. From what I have heard and very little I've seen Henry would be more suited to the bombing full back system. The way I see it is Henry is pretty much like Rose and Ogilvie in the Davies or Corluka mould (which is why I really like him). Ogilvie can also play at CB. I think they will probably loan out Ogilvie again next season hopefully to L1 or Prem and make a judgement from there. Again by the end of next season Rose or Davies could be gone so Ogilvie could still be in contention.

I don't think his signing is necessary but at the end of the day he suits the system better and he is a talented player so let's get him in. The competition could be good and either way we will make money off some players. Could be a point where Henry and Ogilvie are our two first choice LBs. Anyway while I am worried about our own talented players not getting a chance I'm also aware that they can't all make it.

Basically I'm not really against this, I think we could focus on other areas of the squad but I'm a lot more pleased with this link than when we were linked with Iorfa and Kourtney Hause when we have CCV and all our other top CBs. While Ogilvie has started recovering from his injury and finding form his style probably isn't suited to Poch, though I'm sure he could be coached into it.

Think I should add, I'm not against buying top young English talent where it is necessary, I just think people automatically assume that any young player getting chances in the Football League are better than ours and that we should buy them. I just think it is pointless not only having an academy but then wasting what is arguably one of the most group of talented players for some of similar or lesser ability just because they have gotten their chance earlier. There is so much talent coming through England that is no doubt and great opportunities for PL clubs to pick up but there are generally better talents from within.

Before you know it we will be linked to Nathan Byrne soon who's doing great in Championship, has all the talent but just didn't get his chance here.

Where is the ITK?

ITK thread from a day or so ago is where it's from.

I'm almost always for the signing of English youngsters. They will always be risky signings, but they can pay off big time. This guy is supposedly very good and a fit for Poch's system- and he's only 18. I doubt he'd make the instant impact Alli has, but you never know.

As I've said before, according to Transfermarkt, he's played CB, CM, LB and LM this season, so he's got the versatility that Poch likes, he might not even be a LB by the time he plays for us (if we sign him).

I asked Windy about him, and although he knows nothing about a signing, he said he's really good. I hope we sign him, it's one of those that's difficult to me against IMO.

At 174 cm I wonder what make them list him as CB
