The former England international right back (23 caps) and highly respected England coach who played for West Brom and Arsenal and also managed West Brom, Arsenal, QPR, Coventry City and Galatasaray during his long career has died aged 80.

RIP.

Always sad when someone dies. Families mourn a lost one. I've been right there.

Sad he has died, as much as any other human being.

However I am pleased his football philosophy has died with him. He was the man behind so much negative football, I will never evr forget an interview he gave where he said, "if you don't concede a goal, you won't lose a game" . He was a key part of the philosophy that made England boring and Boring boring Arsenal.

unfortunately his philosophy lives on in the form of Mourinho, AVB and the like.
