Rip ugo, obviously had a impact in a good few of our youth players and first teamers. Watching merson talking about him was heartbreaking, he obviously respected him as a pro and a person more importantly. Such a shame, another taken before his time

Makes you think. I still play footy 2-3 times a week against guys in their 20s and early 30s and most of the lads probably think I'm still 35 ish but I'm 42 next month. Don't ever feel like slowing down but you wonder...
Just don't overdo it. Listen to your body.

So very sad to hear of his loss. Far too young.

I hope his family are doing okay, and also the players he coached. Young lads, who probably saw him as more than just a coach, but a mentor as well. I'm sure they're devastated as well.

RIP, Ugo.

I was thinking about Ugo the other day. It's often former players of a club that end up as part of the coaching staff, so for him to be hired at a club on the up, with no affiliation with them, speaks volumes about his qualities.

Very sad news.

R.I.P. Ugo

He seemed to be a genuinely respected and liked man. I hope his family can find peace and solace in the not too distant future.

The tributes from Onomah, Walkes, Harrison and the rest of our next generation had me in tears. RIP Ugo, far too young to have gone.

Thanks. Body says no problem but I imagine Ugo felt absolutely fine too

Anyway stay safe all
The science isn't 100% there yet on the exact cause, but these deaths overwhelmingly occur among black athletes. If you're not black and/or aren't exerting yourself at the rate a professional footballer would you're very unlikely to suffer from what likely happened to Ugo. In fact regular exercise will help prevent coronary heart disease which is far, far more likely to affect/kill you if you're non-black and over 35.

Tbh been pretty shocked by this, 44 is no age at all and brings back memories of my father who also died in his forties and I'm about to hit that milestone too, I guess there is certainly a lesson and that is to grab life and live it to the full, you never know what's round the corner. So keep your loved ones close and make sure they know how you feel about them.

The messages of support and grief on this thread certainly also shows what great fans we have and also how aptly well named this forum is, it truly is a community.
