That's my feeling. Keane has shown a worrying ability to adjust to a different team/partner. So I'd argue that he will not just come in and pick up where he left off, this is a different team.

spurs are more likely to play 442 than liverpool though so keane should pick up the partnership with roman pretty easily.

i'd like him back because of he was a good character to have in the squad /team
on the other hand i dont because, then, what was the point of signing defoe, and we are gonna pay the full moneys just because of his character, there must be another way.

14 million or less and i'd bite their hands off.
(thats 8 million for his ability, 6 million for his presence
shit, i'll even bung in a sarnie for his tackling..)

now then, having watched the game i am wondering if, when you saw rafa standing up in his tech area, beside the water bottles was in full view a suitcase with a tag attached - could this be RK's bought out by mistake

Please no. I know he is world class but it is humiliating for both him and us (if we pay back the exact price). He will never be the same player again and can not in any way again be considered to be a spurs hero, considering the manner in which he moved to Liverpool.

About which we do not know the full facts, something I keep pointing out to no obvious avail.

wait wait wait, did jaime really say that? looks a go-er then maybe, but its odd of them to move on, especially keys who is a hardcoe journalist and will push hard for an exclusive like that.

But with Jaime being the sperm of Harry and a bessie mate of Keane (they holiday together)...he's more ITK than anyone.

I would lose a bit of respect for Keane if he wantedto stay after NOT EVEN BEING IN THE SQUAD today for a massive massive massive game at home (where he's been playing - rafa drops him mostly away)

Correct, he's on the same level as Defoe and i think its pointless bringing them both back. There are much better places to spend 15-20m on our current squad than bringing back Keane.

But then so are Pav and Bent. Who would you realistically sign with the money then?

I dont think we will see RK back at the lane, in a way i would lose a bit of respect for him not sticking it out.
The main difference between Keane and Defoe moving and coming back is Defoe was left little choice but to move on, he done well at pompey and was happy to return.
Keane wanted to leave and would'nt be that happy to leave l'pool you would imagine. He also left us knowing full well berb was going as well and not giving a toss about us.
I'm not sure i want Robbie back and cant help thinking we are waisting time on this one when we could get someone better for the club.
Thanks for what you did give us, but with regards to a return.....no thanks

These comments I never understand. I neither respect or disrespect him because I don't know the bloke. But if he makes a decision to alter his career one way or another then it has very little to do with respect.

But he didn't want to leave, it was just too good an offer to turn down and he couldn't say no. When he said he loved the club and was gonna finish his career here he meant it, he was telling the truth. IF he had an inkling that Liverpool were gonna come in for him he wouldn't have said it because of the implications. I've told ex-girlfriends that I loved them and would always be with them and I've meant it but things change. If someone here has never changed their mind then I don't believe it.

Who realistically would you sign instead?

Having already bought Defoe, potentially buying Keane as well seems highly unnecessary given that we had plenty of opportunities in the last 3 or 4 seasons to know they don't make an effective partnership... Right now spending another £15m-20m on a third striker is not what we need... Unbalanced, mish-mash squad, eh?

If Lennon is sold/exchanged, I will personally tear Redknapp a new one...

I completely agree Nightgoat. I am so disturbed by talk of Lennon going in a swap for Keane I'm considering writing an email to the club to vent my concerns about this (altough a fat lot of good that would do...)

I don't give a sh#t about how Keane left under a cloud. I just don't want him, as a player, back in the team as we don't need him. The problem with our team for years has been the midfield balance and if we were to sacrifice our main creative outlet to sign a lightweight striker who gives the ball away too frequently, I would be livid.

"I think so"

There was a moments hessitation, and a slight smile. Honestly, sounded like he knows more than he's letting out.
