He doesn't want out.
He just wants another pay rise and someone to tell the world that he's better than everyone else (or RVP, anyway).
Spoilt child syndrome.

as player earns 250k a week = not coming Spurs, it doesn't really matter, but i would point out that Moyes suing Rooney for libel over the contents of his autobiography. And winning. Might add to Rooneys "want" to leave

Wayne Rooney, overrated?! This on the same forum where I once saw Roman Pavlyuchenko hailed as the solution to all of our problems? HA HA HA HA.

It took us the whole summer to get Adebayor in on 100k a week! How the hell anybody thinks getting a bloke in on 250k a week even has a slight possibility of happening should self admit themselves to the nut house :wtf:

I can't see him ever leaving Man United.

Where would he go?

Brilliant player but I don't see Real or Barca buying him, nor him wasting himself in Italy or France - whilst he almost definitely wouldn't sign for another English club, surely?

Rooney is quality, even if he perhaps hasn't hit the heights that he looked like he could achieve when he first burst on to the scene.

He's a brilliant finisher, his movement is excellent and he's more than strong enough to play upfront on his own.

Obviously never going to happen though for thousands of reasons. He'll be PSG bound soon methinks.

The two statements are not related. - And yes, the Granny Shagger is overrated.

If we could get him it would be amazing. I know the cool thing to do is say Rooney isn't as good as he is hyped up to be, but imo he is a really top class player.

I will add to this that I don't think there is any chance he would want to join us even if we sorted out a deal, but we are far more likely to blow a ton of cash on Rooney rather then players like Hulk or Falcao due to the marketing possibilities he brings with him.

He might be over-rated by some but that's true of virtually every quality player.

He hasn't reached the heights some thought he could when he burst onto the scene domestically aged 16 then internationally at the 2004 Euro's. But he is a driving force behind a very successful Utd side.

His all-round game helped Ronaldo have an amazing season then when Ronaldo left Rooney adapted his play very well to go back to scoring goals.

It'd be a truly amaziong signing but due to his wages and reputation he wouldn't look at us in a million years. One of the money-bags clubs will happily buy him.

Hasn't he just handed in a transfer request, can see him at PSG or Bayern

He's better than any striker I've seen play for Spurs over the last ten years.

Let's stop pretending we're FC Barcelona - we're not. Wayne Rooney would be the biggest signing we made this century if it ever happened (which it won't), and to suggest any of us should be less than delighted at the prospect if it happened is utterly ludicrous.

For a player who gets paid £1m a month he has serious fitness issues. He is getting bigger by age and by all accounts loves his junk food & cigs. United fans want shot of him, that speaks volumes don't you think...

Mate, who is that on the left in your sig? I always find myself looking at it for 5 minutes.

Which ones?

All the United fans I know love him. He's absolutely adored at Old Trafford, and rightly so, he's done them a great service for 9 years.

Again, the two statements are not mutually exclusive. He IS better than any striker we have had in the last ten years, he would be a massive coup, yet he is ALSO overated. I would love him to sign for Spurs, isn't going to happen though.

A quick example of the opinions of genuine Man Utd fans on Red Issue

M41 - I was getting called a blue **** on a wind up yesterday on Facebook for slagging him off.

The average United fan loves him and will be gutted to see him go.

Good riddance.

Midge - You've hit the nail firmly on the head there M41.The average match of the day watching United fan will only see the edited 5 minutes and think he's had a great match not seeing the 85 minutes of petulance, miss control and disinterest in a lot of matches
On his day and in the right condition (mental and physical) he's still a world class footballer but those days are unfortunately becoming more and more rare.Gone are the days when he had that burst of pace to beat his man and we can see the physical decline every season. The problem is now that he thinks the team should be built around him which is impossible simply because we don't know which Rooney will turn up on match day

Interesting. The only time I've ever seen him in the flesh was the game at WHL we lost 1-3 after Defoe scored an overhead kick in the first minute. Rooney was incredible that day, pretty much single-handedly tore us a new one. So quick for a fat boy.
