Yeah let's ship out all the English players I mean I have seen numerous, rose out, daws our, walker out, Lennon outs that would leave... Townsend who has also been mooted as not good enough along with Defoe! It's horrific! If we get to 4th or higher then will he still not be good enough for a team pushing for 4th having played a major part in it?

If Rose continues as the weak link, I think Chiriches can play there rather than Jan. Playing Chiriches in the centre has it's risks as he likes to dribble out of defnce and to attack, whereas playing him at LB would afford him the opportunity to attack. Defensively, I think Capoue can also play there after he returns from injury.

I thought Benny was lightweight and shit when he first came into the 1st team. I'm delighted I was wrong. I thought Rose wasn't good enough, didn't really see much of him at Thunderland and I was also desperate for us to sign a LB this summer. However, I have to say he hasn't had a bad game yet this season and if AVB can turn Bale from a decent left winger into the world's most expensive player then I reckon he has a chance of turning Rose into an above-average Premiership LB.

How dare you sir, according to all the best pundits that was 'Arry that done that:D

Chiriches is a right footed centre back isn't he? Purchased precisely because he can dribble out of defence? And you mean Capoue can play CB not LB right?

I just don't get this weak link thing. I'm only judging him on games this season (all 5 of them) and for me he hasn't had a bad game yet, let alone been the weak link.

How about this for an idea. Lets just buy the best 25 players in their positions that we can. Lets not bring through any of the youngsters who now grace the stage. :banghead:

That system seems to work all the time???? It just means that we would never see the likes of Bale, Rooney, Wilshire, Townsend, Sturridge, Wellbeck and these are just British Players.

Rose is going through his apprenticeship, and needs time. But with the strength that we have in the squad we have the luxury to be able to give him the time.

I'm sure a right-footed centre back who's never played a PL game in his life would be a better left back than the guy who AVB clearly has faith in to play the position for us.

Or not.

I think he's played RB in the past, as opposed to LB

Rose isn't a shocker to be fair. Could/should we upgrade in January? Yeah, absolutely!

Should we get behind the players that put the shirt on, until then? Too fucking right!

Yes makes sense, we don't want players playing out of defence and attacking like Verts or Kaboul. :banghead:

he doesnt need to go. He is our left back for the foreseeale future.

wouldnt have been my ideal scenario, im not a Rose fan but what can you do, other than grin and bear it, and hope he rams the words of his critics, me included, down our throats.

We are comparing Danny R with guys far more experienced and a few years older. He will come good, I'm sure of it. In AVB I trust

Those 5 games have been against palace, swansea, dianamo tiblisi x2 and arsenal.

Apart from arsenal... I expect nothing but clean sheets.

You are certainly deluded if you 'EXPECT' clean sheets!!!

Agree, these boys are still young (except Lennon of course) and need lots of 1st team game time to learn and grow.

Please explain why Rose is the weak link!!!!

Agree. I wonder what the 'Rose out' mob would be saying if we'd shipped Bale out coz he he was a crap leftback?!!!! We certainly wouldn't have had the summer window we've just had!!!

YiddoInPoland

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

he is a bit erratic but so was BAE and walker can be at times but for a weak link we have conceaded one goal all season in six games, so long may he stay the weak link!!!

Does anyone still think this

Having just watched the game, I think I saw why Sunderland fans had such a chubby for him

He's the best lb we have. If we can upgrade in jan then do so. But that goes for every position.

Until jan support him, even if you think he's not good enough. He played well yesterday and with more games and good coaching will improve his game. By jan lb might not even be the area we're most concerned with.
