FFS I hope we didn't influence his move in summer only to back out now. He a 30mil player we can get at half price. Thought Levy be all over this. Dier and Barkley pairing in midfield.

i still find it hard to believe that we would agree to pay £15 million for a player available on a free in 5 months-mind you we did pay £30 million for Sissoko so anything is possible

As I remember it, Barkley said at the last minute on his way to chelsea, he/his people tried to contact Conte but he wouldn't answer his phone, their thinking being that if he really was waiting on this he'd have been waiting on his phone so they questioned whether he was really wanted.
It's a shame if we don't buy him but let's hope we have moved on for the best reasons.

Literally every source, itk and press are saying poch said no and yet people are still going on about us being terrible at closing deals or wages or whatever stupid agenda they have

If you hate Levy then that's up to you but you can't use this as evidence

That's the transfer thread though in a nutshell, some will and some won't.

What can ya do?

Conte calling Barkley a "good investment" doesn't strike me as a manager that wants him. Expect them to sell within 2 years at a huge profit

It feels very much like a move to improve their homegrown players quota, same with Drinkwater. Chelsea spending 50m or so on those two and letting Chalobah and Loftus-Cheek go is extraordinary

So this other target we’ve got wrapped up who’s loads better than RB must’ve only come to our attention in the last few weeks. Strange seeing as it’s meant to be a big name. Makes you think why we bothered stringing Barkley along when we really wanted this other guy or, like I said, we’ve only just become aware of him and he’s just told us he lives and breathes chicken badge.

The only one I know who likes 'Chicken Badge' is Luka!

I'm sure his lack of match fitness, let alone the extreme fitness demanded by Poch, would also have been a major factor for us.

Added to the fact that Conte will be gone by the summer and he’ll have a new manager to prove himself to.

Not the smartest move, Ross.

It looks like he had a complete hamstring tear, and when that happens there's a reasonable chance the player won't be the same after. If there's any significant doubts over his injury then it's sensible not to take the chance.

How the hell is he going to get into that Chelsea team!

As an Am/winger he's behind:
Hazard
Willian
Pedro
Fabregas

And at CM
Kante
Drinkwater
Bakayako
Fabregas

Good luck getting any minutes Ross.... Such a waste.

Not that gutted though would have offered something different but not a long-term solution in any position at Spurs based on current ability

Bakayoko is dogshit. Fabregas is 31 soon and his contract expires next summer. Drinkwater? Hmm..

This is the post I’m referring to Tiger. Can you flesh it out for me seeing as I’m a bit slow on the uptake.

How are you still not understanding, when it has been laid out for you again and again...

Trix: Its injury related

Herc: Its injury related, but theres a bit more to it which cant currently be in the public domain.

I'm not sure what you want 'fleshing out?' its there in black-and-white
