This saga has been ridiculous. If he is indeed out for 6 weeks that really sucks. Can easily see it dragging to deadline day (or gazump day)

After Chelsea on sunday we have 1 match in the next 20days. 6 weeks wont stop a deal from taking place. I hope that 6 weeks is close to accurate.

sorry but when I read quotes like this I cant help but be skeptical

The injury, understood to be a Grade Three tear,

no confirmation or quotes, the Mirror understands, lol

If it GENUINELY is a Grade 3 tear, 6 weeks is the absolute minimum I'd expect for a return to play.

Players with a history of hamstring injuries, like previous ACL reconstructions make me apprehensive...

The prices being spoken I found it very hard to see us spending that on a player with only 10 months left on contract. A player who's now out for minimum of 6 weeks? I'd say there's zero chance it's gonna be anywhere near close to 30m.

He's missed all of pre season, not kicked a ball since May and he's now going to miss 6 weeks more of training and settling in here. We've seen how hard it is to settle in and adapt to Pochs way of playing and he's going to be miles behind. End up only seeing anything worthwhile from him post Xmas. We need squad additions who are ready to play and train right now.

I've never wanted him but was fine with Poch wanting him, it's getting a bit silly now.

It's almost like Everton want the media to think we've been ripped off. I bet the fee isn't as high as we think and the injury is a lot better than suspected. May be totally wrong.

If it is a grade 3 hamstring tear, then we are straight up cursed. Our shitty injury record is now spreading to transfer targets too.

in that case, we should bid for Lukaku, Jesus, Aguero and Morata. Just to see what happens.

looks like quite a few high profile transfer sagas are linked with "injuries".
Coutinho - back
VVD - virus/illness?
Barkley - hampstring
Davinson - knee

suspicious...(n)
I think we are lucky enough to have a healthy Wimmer:rolleyes:

Yep, the horrible international break will be upon us in September.

My new thing is to go on holiday during international breaks mid-season, great way to escape the disgusting replacement of Spurs with international bullshit. Off to Ibiza for this one coming up (y)

Are we looking to sign Barkley on a six week contract or perhaps 5 years?

Minor injury shouldn't derail any long term plans.

A grade three hamstring tear is more likely to be 2-3 months, especially for a player who is coming back from a hernia operation and has missed all of pre-season. Poch won't be able to use him properly until the end of the year, by which time his value (if still at Everton) would be considerably less than what they are demanding now. Levy would be mad to pay £30m for an injured player with only 10 months of his contract to run. We could get him for £15m in Jan (when he'd be fully fit) or for free in June. That money could be used to give all of our star players an extra £30k per week. I'd much rather Levy waited and did that than buy a player Poch can't use now.
