Why would barkley reject chavs unless they had a agreed a fee

The two clubs can agree all they like, but if the player in question (who's still under contract don't forget) doesn't want to go to the 'buying' club for whatever reason, there isn't much the selling club can do about it - they can't force him out.

By the time the next transfer window opens Barkley will be fully fit, his contract will have run down further, and he's likely to have more options - particularly as his fee will have plummeted.

As for Everton, this transfer window represents their last chance to make any 'big' money on Barkley.

Personally, it seems to me that Barkley is desperately holding out for Spurs until the last possible moment: but who knows, if we don't match Chelsea's bid he might (reluctantly) decide to go to Chelsea after all.

I'm fairly calm about this one. If Poch wants him then I'll be happy that he's got his man, if it doesn't come off and he goes to Chelsea, I won't be that bothered either because I don't think he's the prodigal son people seem to make him out to be.

The thing is, he won't really make a difference to Chelsea. For us though he would as we have nobody like him in our squad.

I agree that he won't really improve Chelsea so not fussed about him going to them, but I also don't think he really improves us. He's an option to have off the bench but for me he's not got the intelligence to play as a 10, doesn't have the discipline/gives the ball away too much to play in CM, and is wasted out wide. People keep telling me that Poch is going to turn him into a world beater, but I just don't see it personally. Barkley just doesn't have the intelligence and that's the hardest thing to coach IMO.

Like I say though, if we can get him for a decent price and if it'll keep Poch happy then I'm all for it, but if not I won't lose any sleep over it.

Imagine nicking Barkley & Llorente off Chelsea... Maybe that's why we haven't announced Llorente yet, double fuck you to the chavs.
